I made several of these probably 12-15 years ago. I soaked mine in ice water. They do work great! Thank you for reminding me!

Toothpick idea works great. A much easier way to accomplish smooth circles is to cut a circle out of cardboard at your finished circle size. Cut the fabric at least 3/8" larger l than the circle all the way around. Take a needle and thread and stitch around the inner edge as we do in making yo yos. Cinch up the thread with the cardboard circle inside. Tie the thread off inside the wrong side. Spray starch the circle and iron with the cardboard inside. Allow it to cool, snip the basting threads and remove the cardboard. Press again. Voila, you have a perfect circle to applique..

I have two of those. They came in tube. It is a type of cloth which stays cold when run under cold water or put in frig. The cloth is a thin spongy fiber.

I love the striped fabric Alex. I’d use some for circles and then in a border too.

Good job Alex . We can report to Ricky that you done good 😅. Stay cool everyone. Maybe it says on the beeds package about soap or detergent. Look under contents for clues to what it is made of.

What size piece of fabric should you start with? I saw that you fold into quarters, but what's the start-size?

Can we appliqué stars sometime? Circles are so much easier than peaks and valleys

When soaking, you can leave those tails out of the water bowl.
@karenscribner70316 ай бұрын
The water will wick out the tails and they will eventually be all wet.
