Alex has had NINE NO1 NEW RELEASES ON AMAZON, www.amazon.com... It is frustrating when a sewing machine won't release to wind a bobbin. Here I go over the basic instructions to give you a helping hand.

Excellent! Fixed my old Brother machine just by doing the clean. I didn't realise the "grease" was old, degraded oil. Once cleaned with paper towel and "elbow grease", a spot of oil as in the video, and the bobbin winder runs like new! Thankyou for the clear explanation.

Just the video I needed to watch today, turns out it was the balance wheel stuck to the shaft. It has now been cleaned and (very) lightly lubed and I now have a fully functioning clutch on a recently acquired 201K which, I believe, had lain idle for a number of years, thanks for the information 👍

Brilliant, one of my finds does that so I haven't used it.........time to give it so well deserved tender loving care. Thanks again Alex.

Am Really Excited that you made this Tutorial. My 201-2, has this problem. Let me get my toolbox 🧰. Going In, scrub up and get busy with my sewing machine.

Thanks so much for these videos Alex. I've got two 201s (one of them my grandmother's 1939 model). It was completely seized up and had issues with the bobbin winder and the foot drop which I've sorted thanks to you! Brilliant.

Alex, love your videos and greatly respect your 201 knowledge. I have a question…I have an opportunity to purchase a 201K here in the states that is totally seized up and wiring is no good. They are asking $50. Should I buy? I feel there’s Hope and I want to rescue this machine to add to my collection.

That is the sort of machine I love but it is a personal decision.

Hey Alex, just read your new book. Your quiet the story teller. My 1200-1 AD680614 Dated July 8 1934 as a 201. Could some 1200-1 be dated 1932 as 201. That year also had an order for 1000 machines. I’ll bet you if you ring up the Queen she will tell you the serial number of her 201. Wouldn’t that just be the Perfect call. Thanks Mike.

I think the 1200 was produced a lot earlier than I first was told. It would not surprise me at all. 1935 was the first 201 launch but the 101 and maybe the 1200 might pre-date it.
