Man such a great convo that I needed. I’ve been in a funk lately. About to graduate from college at the end of this week, grades have never been a problem, job lined up starting in September but I’m just tired of the formula. Wake up, workout, school work, housework, sleep. Since covid started but really for the past 3 years. I’ve missed out on so much social stuff w my friends convincing myself school was the main priority. It was but like Alex said I’m too comfortable to the point that I’m uncomfortable being this comfortable. I’m in dire need of a change of scenery but I’m too worried about how everyone else will feel about me saying it. Their input matters but I just needed to self reflect to really figure it out, at the end of the day I know what it is I need to do. Been trying to improve w these Roomates videos for the past couple of months and they really helped. I’ll continue to grind it out, got a couple things left to do in the next year and a half until I’m free to make whatever move feels right at the time. When the job starts in September and covid clears up I plan on going out more and I’m preparing for that now. The Level Up grind won’t stop.

I believe why a lot of young men get scared (used to happen to me too), its after multiple attempts, along with many different approaches, strong rejections etc, it just gets depressing with the failures. age 21-25 will be the most difficult. plus our generation are heavily lacking in transparent social communication.

Ty hafeez for saying that not wanting a 80hr work week is fine and acceptable. For a long time I'd watch these videos and videos like these and they constantly preach work work and works some more. And I'm like I'm already working hard now. I'd like to have decent riches and to have a kingdom and I know that takes work. But I also know that I hate having to work hard constantly and that kind of lifestyle would make me miserable, working so hard that I can't enjoy what I worked for. So thank you for seeing that and trying to explain to us that it's okay to not to be a hyper ambitious over achiever

A lot of KZbinrs do a lot of dishonest by not just admitting who the actual problem was in a relationship. I got that they try to be an adult and respectful and always state that It was both but in reality it's really one person atleast most percentage wise
@8:30 The way I see it is that guys live very lonely lives, cos school teaches us never to do anything risky (and approaching a girl for a guy is very risky for their self esteem and confidence (if theyre attached to the outcome)), so once a guy like this attracts a girl, they don't understand why the girl is attracted and they don't know how to get another girl once this girl leaves, so they get tunnel vision and instead of improving themselves, they chase the past that made them feel so comfortable ("Idk why this girl likes me, so she must like me for who I am")

There's a message in here I want to echo around the 25:00 mark. I quit my job to go full time into my side venture just a month or so ago, but it was a rocky road getting to there. Not rocky in the work that I put into the "hustle", though I did put in a lot, but in the mental strife I went through before I could finally made the decision late last year. When I first started on my business 3 years ago, I had told myself, "You're prudent. If you ever quit your good paying tech job for this, you're only going to do so when you're making 2x or 3x what you're making at your day job." It was this idea, that listening to the feelings that arose from lack of interest in my work, and to some extent resentment of it, created immense cognitive dissonance. My day job wasn't hard for me per se, not if I applied myself 100%--albeit there were truly some obstacles that I later found I would literally not be able to overcome on my own. And yet, every day I would find myself more and more repelled away from the work. There's a fair bit of background to the inception of these feelings, but the important part to keep in mind is that I felt an immense sense of guilt. Guilt. We're so accustomed to blaming ourselves for the way that our minds work. Surely if there's *anything* in this world we have control over, it's our thoughts and feelings right? Anybody who has battled with depression will tell you that this is not the case. But then for those of us that don't have to struggle with such things, we may think there's something wrong with us in a different way. It's internal locus of control gone awry, just enough awareness and the idea that we control ourselves to cause ourselves harm. What I came to learn is that for myself, I didn't have control over this feeling and that it wasn't something that warranted controlling. The feeling was a part of my that was calling out, trying tell me what I really wanted, but I was subconsciously telling myself that I was in the wrong for feeling it. This caused crippling amounts of cognitive dissonance as the things that I was consciously telling myself to do (and shaming myself if I didn't) were in direct conflict with what my subconscious was yelling at me. Now, gratefully with great effort over the years I managed to get myself into a place where I was able to concede the victory to myself and let me have what I needed after that year-long battle. Though it taught me a lesson in shame and guilt. There is nothing to feel shameful of or guilty of if I'm being true to myself. Of course, you have to know who "You" are, and I have enough hubris to say that I do. Furthermore, there's NO ONE, *NOT EVEN MYSELF* who can tell me who I am or should be. I can't _tell_ people "Me", I can only _be_ "Me", and I was successfully executing that when I properly listened and obeyed the feeling I had that ultimately led to me diving fulltime into my business. I stopped telling myself who I was or should be, and I started being "Me". I'm sure the psychologists say it better with the different layers of consciousness and personality, but I'll just say that we often know things before we know them. More specifically, we feel things before we can consciously find the root cause of those feelings. We feel then think--very rarely, if ever, does this happen the other way around. (I suppose Jordan Peterson actually hits upon this in his book, Beyond Order, which I do happen to be reading at the moment.) But in starting to think about the cause, we usually begin from a set of preconceived notions that may set us vastly off course or completely blind us from the route that we must take. It's taking a step back and asking as objectively as possible, "what is this feeling" which is better asked as "what do I need" that we, or I guess me in the case of my own story, begin to move past the things we tell ourselves and into the things that we do not yet know about ourselves. PS: There's some nuance to be made here. I am mostly fine with who I am and my current station in life. I am not someone who slows down, I speed up and search for ways to switch into gears higher than I've sustained before and I have values / philosophies that require a high functioning "Me". I have determined that being "Me" is one of the best things that I can be (and I have only heard positive reinforcement around me of this idea) and so it's my responsibility to make sure I get what I need to continue to power on.

Yeah having a KZbin and an Insta and Tik Tok and other social media following really just seems like a volatile currency. At any moment KZbin can decide to take you down. At any moment the “KZbin Gods”can cancel you. Also the people who enjoy your content can cancel you as well. it’s all dependent on you and how much you can deliver. this is why I love the book Rich dad poor dad by Robert Kiyosaki and he mentions how the self-employed are taxed the highest in the cashflow quadrant. Little did I realize at the time reading it that meant taxed in energy as well.

A lot of men choose a woman then don’t know how to let that woman choose them back. Getting swept off your feet isn’t the modern woman’s dream, we want to have some say in our destiny.

The whole point of leveling up isn't that hey in one year I leveled up everything and got everything correct leveling up in building character takes time so if it took you 5 years to get where you're satisfied with leveling up and getting somewhere that's where these men the roommates and other men out there make it happen for us is because we were getting the learning tools to make it happen get disciplined get it going make it happen stop acting like you're all by yourself stop acting like you're a weak man get up on your feet and make it happen

So this has nothing to do with the video BUT......I really would love to see y’all invite women who have the knowledge and language who have opposite points of view on your show. Like ppl who have the credentials. It would be great to see @jouelzy @for.Harriet(Kim foster) @iam_eloho @nerissanefeteri. I honestly feel like the women who you invite on(no offense to them) don’t have the knowledge to speak on what y’all preach and are challenging. While i do not agree with most of what y’all put out, i watch sometimes to challenge myself and to get others points of view and do believe y’all’s hearts are in the right place( i love a good challenging convo haha). But please, i would love to see women who have the knowledge and can actually challenge y’all and give you actual conversation. P.S. this video was nice, def enjoyed

Yep so true. I wish guys would stop looking for looks only. I'm pre med and there's tons of pretty girls that are too stress to put on makeup and look pretty. However when schools over, they are the prettiest ones but they keep a low profile because they are focus on their goals

@@mario125ww Hello there fellow medico. I get what you say. They’re pretty focused on their goals haha. Back when i was in med school seeing them made me focus on my studies more. There will be the party people even in med school but most of them have the balance between when to party and when to study. Anyway good luck with your pre med man. You got this. It gets hard but it’s worth it. Dont lose focus.
