Alex Cox's wife Zulema Pastenes talks to Chandler Arizona Police in April 2021

CHANDLER, Arizona -- Police in Arizona have released gigabytes of video interviews and other documents related to their investigation into the homicide of Charles Vallow, the former husband of Lori Vallow Daybell.
The documents came Tuesday after a Grand Jury indicted Daybell in June for conspiracy to murder for the July 11, 2019 shooting death of Vallow. Daybell's brother Alex Cox initially told Chandler Arizona Police he shot and killed Vallow in self-defense, but investigators say the evidence does not support the claim.

Thanks, Nate! These are a blessing and a curse. I really hate that this was allowed to continue to the point that it did. I really feel like this was all preventable. If the police had actually forced Lori to undergo the mental eval when it was ordered, instead of giving her all the ways to avoid it...this could have been avoided. Just so sad how the system works against its citizens sometimes. Sexual bias caused 4 people to die. They didnt think Lori was capable of going through with the things she had been threatening to do. It was there, in black and white. Charles gave them everything they needed to ensure his and the kids' safety, but the police did the very opposite by enabling Lori to continue. I hope the PD's involved here are liable for some amount of wrongful death compensation to Kay and Larry for their losses. This is insane...

So many things bother me about Zulema starting with she cut a deal and is immune from prosecution. It also really bothers me how she blamed LE for "traumatizing her family" by them executing a absolute legit search warrant. She fails to realize her actions caused the trauma. She brings in a strange man to her home who is a killer and forces her kids to have to deal with it. Apparently this upset her daughter so much that she had moved out. This has been a trend of Zulema to jump into relationships quickly and made her family to adjust. Her own son didn't even know Alex was his stepfather and Zulema traumatized her son by forcing him to check on Alex and call 911. All of this is Zulemas fault. So when I hear her talk so nonchalantly about the weather and sports arena it makes me sick. All I can picture is her telling Chad she's relieved Charles is dead or praying for lightning to strike around JJ whiles he's in a moving vehicle or telling Alex that Tylee, the "dark one" would soon be dealt with and making a "inner tornado" within Tylee. Or how excited she was for Chad after Tammy died. She is one of the most pathetic people I've ever seen and I wish someone would teach her a lesson because she got off way too easy. I’m not accusing him of being apart of this group or killing his siblings BUT I believe he knew his mother killed Joe Ryan, and “he” lied on Joe Ryan for his mother and he knew she had Charles killed but yet he helped Lori & Alex rush to Charle’s house and take EVERYTHING worth anything and put it in storage. Colby I believe was getting Charle’s truck. They left nothing for Charle’s two biological boys. What made Colby think he was more entitled than those other boys. Zulema's questions at the end were interesting and telling. Out of all the questions she could ask she wanted to know 1/ were Chad and Lori crazy or evil? Good question that everyone has asked. And 2/ Did Alex really care for me or was he faking it? That's the kind of question that was really pertinent to someone who felt maybe she had been suckered. She probably knows more, but I don't think she was in on the plans to kill people. Of course I never know when ppl are lying to me, so there's that.----the drop cloth story was chilling.
