How I'd love Watkins, or Foden or Saka to pull of a bicycle kick in the final (a man can wish can't he?), then turn to the camera and say "Not only you!". Considering how bad this ENG team has played, yet some how these Kneelgate players have taken utter umbridge to any criticism, which is testamonut to the atmopshere Kneelgate has created amongst them, he has made them all too Kneely-feely! I simply can't watch their interviews, Kane converses like a bland robotic politician, it might as well be my dishwasher over enthusiastically bleeping at me, to empty it. There was the armband drama, of "Will they won't they" wear it in Qatar, then the furore of the version of the "We had a bit of fun" with the St. George's cross, an historic and national emblem is never to be messed with! Previously the 'WAGS' distractions, why is it no other country has these never ending nonsenses around their camp? It's as if there some kind of self destruct spirit that always rears it's ugly head for the ENG football team in tournaments. Appointing McCleran, Hodgson, Alladyce & Kneelgate being such examples. These are all distractions from a very difficult task, that being to win a big tournament, which the other countries are laughing at, knowing they ain't doing the ENG camp any good. Why do you think boxers retreat up into the Catskil mountains to train for a title fight? For no distractions, none! Stick to flipping football or you may as well be flipping burgers!

Bellingham is an 8. He's a charger. Nothing we've seen of him with England says he's got cute feet and the quick control and vision required to play as a 10. His strength and ability screams box to box player; arrives late to score on runs into the box. Foden is much more a 10 but while we're playing Kane up front there'll never be room for a 10 because Kane will passively occupy that position. On performance so far I don't think Bellingham has warranted his starts, that's fair criticism but then I'd also entirely change our front line personnel from Southgate's loyalty and safety based selections.

Bellingham has earned the right to be cocky. But he's still human, so we shouldn't expect that he has a 10/10 game every time

Bellingham and the England squad seem to not understand the difference between fair criticism and personal insults. They're acting as though the media are making unfair observations. It's all been completely fair and largely very tame criticism of four absolutely awful performances. Bellingham has had 3-4 years of consistent praise. If he wants the praise he needs to accept there will be some criticism along the way. He's a brat, people need to stop fawning how "mature" he, he's been acting like Kanye west all tournament. The victim mentality amongst footballers is getting ridiculous. Rashford does it, he's criticised for being absolutely terrible and then when he occasionally scores he does cringey celebrations like he's the victim of some agenda, then posts "hate uz coz u aint uz" garbage.

Simon, stop with this "oh, they can't take criticism" knackers. Of course Bellingham was charged up and wanted to prove the doubters wrong. How is that an issue? Well done though, you made me leave a pointless comment

Hopefully Shaw is in for the next match , even not fully fit it will give balance to the team. Play Gordon the on the left. Palmer on the right. Rest Saka . And play bellingham as the 10. Foden is an ideal player to come on as is saka.

I think Darren Bent is a top top pundit. Says a lot of sensible things.

Bellingham is the most over hyped player I have ever come across, okay he is only 21, and is playing with top class players, week in, week out, at Madrid. But he ain’t no Paul Scholes yet, or anywhere near it. The lad needs too keep the arrogance down a key, or become a constant ‘target’. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Critcism is fine. I don't think the England team and manager would have a problem with that. The problem is the criticism goes way over the top, there is a vocal element of the English media and fans that still harbour this idea we should hammer every team we face. Look how much trouble Slovenia caused Portugal. This expectation places additional pressure on the team, it is completely counterproductive.

Big difference between arrogance and confidence ya right about that. But wrong at how you have percieved Bellingham to be Simon. He doesn't look confident, he looks nervous but enthusiastic and energetic. Everything else is pure arrogance. He needs to check it. He could end up like memphis.

You know that Michael Jordan had a similar attitude right? teams that have actually won something have tended to have at least 1 player like this, Having one player who pops up clutch with a bit of magic just when it matters is often an essential part of winning teams And i for one am sick to death of the idea that an Englishman isnt allowed to know that he is fecking good Because i guarentee, if he was Portugese (Ronaldo), Argentine (Maradonna), French (Cantona), Italian (Ballotelli) we wouldnt even be having this conversation And no im not comparing him to these players skill wise, just using them as a point Let him cook and enjoy it whilst he is

Bellingham has something English players rarely have, cojones. This is why most can’t thrive outside their comfort zone of England. It’s a foreign character trait so of course he will get attacked to conform and be “a proper English lad” .. a star that doesn’t believe his own hype is not a star.

Name ANY elite sportsman at the very very top (who also stay at the top) who isn’t ruthless, confident bordering on arrogant, selfish at times? Most Brits (and I’m one) have an apologist mentality which is why we don’t win much in sports

He was rubbish most the match but what a finish. Top class player. I think England were lacking the final ball yesterday. I feel Palmer and Trent could really boost that problem
@frankbevan4133 ай бұрын
Technically England are real bad Trying to play like Man City therein lie the problem. You have a team of players whose clubs that they play for dont play like Man City. and to make all that talent play like a team, England give it to a manager who before he became England manager was a 29% win rate manager. He sits proudly at 60% whilst managing some of the brightest talent this country seen

People seem to forget that bellingham can play 10,8,4 if players Canr see the position that he’s in because they’re either have no footballing brain to see this. He frustrated because he’s not getting the ball in open play. Kane needs to stop dropping back and clogging the midfield. Tripper playing left back with right foot will always cut in has no vision down the left side always sideways passing

He's a bit full of himself is young Bellingham. Thats not necessarily a bad trait. I think he's comfortable enough in taking a confrontational approach in this instance though because he can largely avoid any pushback. This is for a couple of reasons. 1. He's not playing in England. 2. He thinks he's the main man and any sort of behaviour like this is likely to be tolerated. I don't think he would say such things to that Madrid propaganda rag that escapes me at the moment. Marca I think.

He's reminds me of pogba the way he's been playing. Holds on too long, overdribbles and just breaks the flow of play. Gareth dsnt have the balls to put him in a 8 or put him on the bench. Foden is a better 10 but is dribble first baller. His playnaking is not on the level of kdb, silva, mata odegaard

Alex Cook's comment about bringing Jude Bellingham down a peg or two is the reflection of the loser mentality of the English fans! Jude Bellingham hate him or what but his attitude reflects the supreme self belief of a young man that is destined for great things!! It is the same attitude that is across all of the past decades of players who have played at Real Madrid!! Winners have a certain mentality that losers will never know anything about!! Crook what have you done in football arm chair commentator??

It’s one of those things. Some athletes develop an arrogance and this is their way, their motivation, how they cope with the pressure. CR7 is the ultimate example. Others remain humble and let the football do the talking and are not interested in or motivated by ego. Messi the example here. Ultimately it’s a personality trait. Personally I was a fan of him, but find his arrogance is becoming unbearable, so not a fan any more. Much prefer humility in sport. He is also overhyped. Musiala is much better in my opinion.

why does simon keep saying " it feels like we cant critize england players" ? ......... you are doing it, and no one can stop you. but the players have a right to respond any way they like just like you have a right to say what you want. It is absurd how hypocritical he is. he always say you have a freedom of speech but not freedom of consequence. its a pointless discussion, they have their opinion and you have yours. just keep moving on
