His impressive defensive skills were always his best ability. What changed in the last few months though is his offensive game, it has improved A LOT. He takes the ball earlier, can put great power on it, better volleying, better serving too. All this combined makes Alex a serious threat for any player nowadays. Congrats ! Good to see Casper playing well too.

Totally agree. And I wish more players celebrated like he did. He respects his opponent and the ump by prioritizing the hand shakes, _then_ letting loose with the celebratory yell. I'm sick of players who just drop on the ground or hop around yelling as soon as they get match point while the opponent is twiddling his thumbs, waiting at the net.

De Minaur has really come of age. His skill-set looks so enriched, and as the commentator said, his clarity of thought (e.g., shot selection, net approach) is downright impressive. He can still outpace the Roadrunner, but that's reserved as a last resort. Still a step or two removed from the top 5 or 6, the very best, but he could be the next player to win his 1st Masters 1000.

He deserved every single game and penny of this tournament. Finally his humility and sportmanship have been rewarded. Go Alex! Win another one 💪😉

De Minaur and his team have finally made the breakthrough tactically…he was never gonna be able to grind it out on the baseline against the bigger hitters, even with his speed and defence. Now he’s using his speed to get forwards and backwards and play a more aggressive all-court game. Good luck to him moving forwards, he’s in his prime now and his tennis is looking it!

The speed demon is playing with massive depth these day. When he adds some weight to those shots, it will be dynamite. Happy to see your progress. Stuff dreams are made of!

Congrats to De Minaur. Always a class act. That one rally that I think happened at 5-3 was amazing. I think Ruud won that point. Ruud is also a class act and good to see him in the final. Also neat that Rune was in the crowd with his coach. (I wonder how many days his coach is going to last before Rune fires him again. LOL)

Ruud hit it out. It happens when you drop your focus seeing that point is finally yours, you just have to hit it back in court. He kinda looked in disbelief there he missed it.

Casper’s forehand now makes him look like a right handed Rafa. But the Demon is much improved and a class act. For a grinder he is quite fun to watch

Both are great characters. Casper especially such a kind guy with a fantastic attitude but his game is very limited. Hopefully he will one day a bigger tournament than a 250-series. Hope for one grandslam title for him🤗

De Minaur is very fast and he has increased his power over the last few years. Ruud did not have enough to overcome him.
