Murray's 2012 US open win was so emotional, raw and surreal... a rising star but losing 4 GS finals it seemed clear he wouldn't achieve anything with Nadal , Fed and Novak around. People were saying he was unlucky to be playing in their era but after his heartbreaking 2012 Wimbledon loss to get back on the grind and beat Novak playing at a high level in an epic 5 set match just felt so satisfying. The story will always trump Virgina Wade or Radacanu's cuz people knew the struggle Murray had to go through to finally become victorious.

Novak is by far the most gracious loser of the big 3. Seeing Roddick and Delpo win what would only be 1 GS at the start of their career is heartbreaking. Cilic's win was awesome. Still sad for Thiem he didn't get a crowd to cheer for his win.

That's easy. Because he always believed that he could win more though he lost this time. Right from the beginning he was losing to players like Nadal and Federer. Being humble comes naturally to him for the reason that he was losing the greats. The same is not true for Rafa and Federer. Everytime they were losing a Slam, it looked like a new era was bagan. To take a loss was much difficult for them. Age was catching up with Roger. Every loss was casting a doubt over his career. And for Rafa, every defeat was like a proof for what his doubters were saying- No one expected Rafa to have a long career. No one actually believed that he could win more US Opens than Djokovic at this stage of their careers. Basically every time Federer and Nadal lost, it looked like it is the end of their careers. But that's not same for Djoker. When he lost to Medvedev last year in straight sets, at the age of 34, and missing it this year at the age of 35, people still believe that he could win few more US Opens.

@@user-lp1rf7jh2h True. But let us be honest. No one expected Nadal to play this long at this level. Federer plays like Tennis is so simple. Nadal plays like it is very tough. Weak serve of Nadal, his high intense, his body type, everything is opposite to what people expected in a perfect Tennis Player. Even today Djokovic looks like he has many years in him. Nadal looks like this is his last tournament. Since the 4 to 5 years, I was never sure about Nadal winning any Grand Slam, including his favourite French Open. I always believed that Djokovic has the best chances to win every Slam. Tell me if I'm wrong.

People say Djokovic is the best returner of all time. I think he gets the ball in play better but peak Hewitt (whom a personally dislike) was amazing. To this day Sampras has the best serve ever and Hewitt consistently hit the ball deep to Sampras' feet.
