The Maserati MC12 was more like a GTP car than a GT. Something like a modern day 911 GT1, Merc CLK GTR, Nissan R390 GT1, Toyota GT1..

He only gave the inside line because if he didn't, the other maserati's were going to pass him in the outside, he couldn't cut the corner that much. If the other maseratis wouldn't have catched up to them, the corvette would have won.

The American truck just goes to show what a beautiful machine the Maserati MC12 is, particularly in the Vitaphone colours. Maserati MC12 GT1, 6.0 litres. Chevrolet Corvette C6.R, 7 litres. Yanks CAN'T win without bigger engines.

Why the hate for the corvette? The mc12 was a purpose built race car. Designed for racing before being engineered for the public road, there is no wonder why it has an advantage. What's more amazing is that it still showed dominance while being heavily restricted by FIA.

@@koraxi8958 I strongly suggest that you look up the meaning of the word HATE. And then look up the meaning of the word DISDAIN. Learn the difference. The Corvette, it has a capital letter because it is a Proper Noun, is NOT A CAR, IT IS A TRUCK. The Yenghi cannot build race engines. Tell me about a US designed 1500 or 2000 cc race engine. They just can't do it, they are incapable of even grasping what "fuel efficiency" means.

This days there was a GT1 and a GT3 callaway version of the corvette. Nowadays there is a GTE and a GT3 version

He was holding up 3 Maserattis all by himself and defended against two others letting the one attacking from the inside pass him. The Corvette GT1 was just as Overpowered as the MC12 GT1, so much so that in the GT1 American Lemans series it made Ferrari, Dodge, Porsche and Aston Martin quit.
