I think Alex was PLAYING the Christian. I don’t think he was endorsing the idea of a God as much as he was just helping destiny understand that people aren’t idiots for believing in God and you can’t dismiss it that easily. Praying for Alex. Glad to see him being respectful of Christians

@zackmac59177 күн бұрын
That's pretty much it but I wouldn't say Christian, he was playing theist. I didn't take it to mean he actually believed what he was saying, it's that he was giving Destiny a bit of pushback because he could see Destiny was so staunchly arrogant in his position, that he probably felt Destiny needed to be more open minded and consider it a bit more. Which, is indeed a reflection of Alex's position today. He probably wouldn't have felt this way before, but now he does as his perception and understanding evolves. So it's not that he outright believes what he was saying, but he is much more open to what he said being true and thinks it's worthy of consideration. To me it looked like nothing but an agnostic playing the theist.

"I watch copious amounts of idol killer and Leighton flowers which has qualified me to be an expert in Augustine and Gnosticism" Augustine has literally nothing to do with gnosticism, and likewise neither does Calvin. "Gnosticism" as a category is already a misnomer, as there is no such thing as "gnosticism" per se, only fragmented groups deemed heterodox by early heresiologers like Irenaeus. To claim Augustine was influenced by gnosticism is patently absurd.

@@donovanloreman Gnosticism is quite literally a whole different Jesus and a whole different theology all the way down to the most core basic aspects of what Christians AND Jews believe about the Bible/Torah. It's pretty awesome to hear the history of the Bible... Because what started to reignite my coming back to God was a question that popped in my head about the Shroud of Turin.. one of the very real artifacts that we have that actually shows us that Jesus was a real man, and also his face covering that was used to catch his blood from his transport from the cross to the tomb, the Sudarium of Oviedo. So to hear more in depth on the historical relevance is awesome and I feel can prove to any agnostic that this isn't a book of fiction.. that God does exist, but also if you can see all this darkness that's being exposed here on Earth during these trying times... You must surely believe light has to exist in the face of darkness as well. I've had many experiences in my life time from a young age that showed me that the darkness is real, as well as God too. Things that shouldn't have happened that saved my life showed me that God real, and this goes for some in my family as well. So that being said.... God is awesome! And so are you Ruslan! The Ethiopian Bible is the oldest and most complete Bible in the world and it has 81 books, of which some are not "canonized". Does that mean that the books from the Ethiopian Bible not canonized by Carholics are false writings? Do you see the problem with "it's not canonized it must be false or irrelevant." Someone should suggest to Alex to actually try and find out if God is real or not. Someone should convince him to pray and pray properly and then he should wait for an answer. I feel like a lot of debating can be kind of useless, especially if the other side is extremely convinced in their belief. And to try to understand something unfathomable and beyond what you've experienced in life based on your limited knowledge and limited human mind is a waste of time imo. You shouldn't try to intellectually understand something beyond your intellect. If he prays and Jesus answers, he can't deny anything anymore. And if he rejects prayer, then you can argue him against that since that means he isn't even willing to face God. You can't just intellectually figure out how sugar tastes like if you've never tasted it, it's like trying to imagine a color that doesn't exist.

I had simple prayers answered, but nothing complex or my actual problems

@Hello-bi1pm Larger problems take time, and I think you'll find that you will have to go through them yourself, but with tremendous support if you have God in the mix. The point is for you to build character, and God will only help where needed, not where you can do something yourself, that's just spoiling someone. You have to struggle.

@Hello-bi1pm And also the fact that you had prayers answered is already pretty miraculous if you think about it.

Even Craig Keener date the gospels after 80AD.

Nice one Ruslan! J Warner Wallace also does a great analysis on the chain of custody and why the Gospels were likely written before AD70. Really great stuff. Thanks for all the good work man.

Some of the Dead Sea scrolls are good but not that one.

I watched Matt Whitman's video about the dead sea scrolls not too long ago, and the Essene commune responsible. The stuff that wasn't scripture has some hilarious stuff that was written. For some it's as if there was one guy in the group that kept doing stupid stuff, that they had to make specific rules against doing just to get him to stop. Some other really neat stuff as well, including what was almost like a treasure map in text.
