When Ovechkin was 10 years old, his older brother died of a blood clot. He was only 25. He's the one who encouraged him to get into hockey.

Austin Hill I went to the Capitals practice before they flew to Vegas for the first two games. Parked in front of the rink was an old school military motorcycle complete with sidecar. There were "OVI" and Ovechkin's face decals, a big red star on the front, and a hammer and sickle on the side. I don't know for sure that was his but who else would own such a vehicle in Washington DC?
