@heldertiago124 7 жыл бұрын
Tate Anderson It's true Alex can fill the spot and play Lyle's parts perfectly (sometimes even better). But, to me, Lyle is a much more creative drummer than Alex, and his ideas and aproach are more interesting and "out of the box". Just compare his work with the Faceless and Abhorrent with Alex on Conquering Dystopia, Ordinance and Good Tiger. The fact his Alex popularity came first from playing parts of other drummers, like in this video, and the HAARP Machine ones, where he plays the parts written by Craig Reynolds (who also is extremelly creative).

All your videos are amazing but this is the one I've revisited again and again. I've watched it at least 100 times at this point in time. It's absolutely mind blowing still but I'm glad to say my comprehension of what you're doing has increased significantly. It is amazing to see you playing this with such style in the face of near overwhelming complexity/speed. You are an inspiration Alex.

Music like this is super entertaining to hear / watch. That being said, I can't stand a vocalist who just constantly growls and screams so I'm super glad this is strictly instrumental.

Kiliab Gonzalez Different tastes I guess, because I love growls and screams, and can't stand cleans in metal. But I also love my instrumentals so I can watch/listen to just the instruments. I appreciate all of it (not saying you don't! Just that's how I feel).

Derek Rydquist (who recorded vocals for Planetary Duality) is one of the best metal vocalists period. There’s a maturity to what he does. His work in John Frum makes the band stand out. Good metal vocalists add a dynamic to a band.

Whats with everyone hating on Lars? I mean granted he isn't the best drummer by far. But his drum work on the albums Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets fit the songs perfectly. He has an insane amount of fills in every song as well. Go ahead and post yourself doing either Fight Fire With Fire or Damage Inc. Ill wait.......

As a grad gift, my friend arranged for me to meet Alex before a show he played with the Faceless in Columbus, OH back in 2013. Nicest guy I've ever met, gave me a signed pair of sticks and chatted for a while. Then he slayed a killer set that night. Thanks for taking the time to meet me, I still have those sticks hanging on my wall.
