I've been a big Sikth fan for a long time and this tune is kind of a classic. Big thanks to Greg for recording the guitars and synth sounds!
The main reason I wanted to cover this tune is the mid section - it's all in fives. Pretty cool and challenging to play.

Fucking love this song. The last 30 seconds make me headbang regardless of where I am. For anyone who hasn't listened to Sikth as extensively as I have, I'd recommend Scent of the Obscene and Skies of Millenium Night, oh and Summer Rain - that is a fucking face melter.

Phillistine Philosophies is as good as the whole first album- it’s so dense and alot if what’s on opacities is stuff they wrote for death if a dead day, they couldn’t let go of what they had and that’s so cool to me- the riff is one of the most alien sounding and style- these heavy parts ironically usually lose to guttural pelvic friction the more technical… but not sikth- they write epics for riffs… like a meandering dementia patient speaking as well in a foreign language… all you can grab from it is the deepest part of what makes us human- we suffer, while you can’t understand exactly her woes you simultaneously feel like hugging her and murdering the man who took her purse- to me it’s the merge of feminine and masculine and great music, Metal/prog is a mastery of merging, contrasting, playing with a third sheerlu by existing separate an interval appears and the swing can, with enough life practice, make your rudiments your soul like Thomas Haake and write a marvel like clockworks. Good music is a lot of things to a lot of people but that’s how I feel it’s served my life- music has something important to say, tarot cards can be read by any skill level, but an expert of hermetic symbolism could tell you a lot about just one image. To me unless there’s some sort of challenge, it’s not worth doing music wise and that doesn’t always mean technical… I’ve been at all the extremes… starting with only deathcore lmao so take it from me- if you need to be screamed at to be woken up then by all means welcome yourself back brother, but know unless you find meaning in more subtle or mundane things, it won’t be awesome living in our society. So spiral out butbmaynard also recommends temperance of this sort too where unless your spiraling is helping you to actually be creative you can get stuck in just the act of getting to your place creatively, like social media addiction- a psycho naught ends up unwell and pretty out there- lot of acid casualties plus regular overdoses in my circle of musical friends… play with fire tho… you find out how good you are at putting out fires 😂🎉 sikth really are amazing, I’m hoping they find a healthy safe way to make a magnum opus album that gets them more recognition- criminally needed esp their message which could have saved me slot of time had I been smart enough to listen. Viva revolution

I completely agree with them needing a magnum opus - for me that is TTADADO, but they've not gained the popularity that I would've expected them to. I can't even describe how happy I am you covered this song. My favorite from you by a long shot. The only 'complaint' I have is that there isn't vocals. Don't get me wrong, Greg's part is spot on. Its just the vocals are really what made Sikth they band that they were, and its almost a shame the people who have never heard this song don't get the full experience. That being said, all of you sad folks who don't know this band all need to go get acquainted with them.
