You are correct that the identity of the dog is NOT Ashley Whippet, it is of Lady Ashley (one of his daughters). While it may be difficult to get a good close up of the dog, there is no doubt as to the identity of the person or dog in this video as I used to travel with Stein and his dogs and was there on the day the video was shot.

Lady Ashley was quite a bit smaller than Ashley and more stocky. I can't speak about any of the breeding that took place, but I can say that she was a pure whippet. Some of the more famous offspring of Ashley Whippet were Lady Ashley, Ashley Jr. and Ashley III. They were the ones Alex kept and performed with.
