The only problem is that we don’t know which one is the original Ryan Wieber…
@Chree1s2 жыл бұрын
@@TheOldScrapIron I'll put it like this but keep up with me: There are 4 Ryan clones. The original Ryan died in the first one so his 1st clone kills Dorkman. After Ryan's death, his clones did the rest of his jobs. Clone 2 died in Ryan vs Brandon 1, then the 3rd went to go rematch dorkman in Ryan vs Dorkman 2. Clone 4 went to go rematch Brandon in Ryan vs Brandon 2 where its revealed that there are clones of himself. After the end of Alex vs Nate 2 its revealed that Ryan is alive. My guess to it is that the Ryan we see at the ending of this video is the first Ryan clone from Ryan vs Dorkmam, and he lead the other 3 clones later down the line.

Thanks to everyone for the amazing feedback thus far. It was our intention to deliver the best lightsaber fight to our ability, and it's so great to read the feedback, both positive and negative, and see the video get out there! I tend to approach the filmmaking and choreography from an acting standpoint - making sure each move and intention is clear and, like Meisner, making sure each action is a response to something that just happened. While that may not have landed sometimes, I'm glad to read the comments about intention and the work that went in to piecing this together. Keep the great feedback coming and my thanks to all who have taken the time to watch our short!

Dude, I get the "Highlander-esque" feel to it. So much so, that after watching the all the "vs" films like twice, I had a dream that night about being one of the ones who could use the Force and build lightsabers. And the dream had a story much like Highlander, where all the Force users could sense each other. It was an awesome dream lmao.
@roninikari5 жыл бұрын
@@GyorBox There's a fan theory: It was shown in the first Highlander movie, in the scene with Connor, Ramirez and the stag, that immortals have a rudimentary sense outside themselves. Perhaps Force users are just a variant, exchanging the nigh-immortality for refining the control of that capability, and the whole Jedi vs. Sith is nothing more than a factioning of intergalactic "immortals" waging their endless war for the Prize.

The saber clashing combat itself, rather lackluster and a lot of attacking blades instead of the opponent. But your creative use of the Force and attacking the machines of the sabers themselves give this a very realistic fight feel. And bringing in Ryan at the end was brilliant. I'm looking forward to more videos now. I don't see many videos where the fighters actually understand Forms, choose one, and make it obvious that they are practicing a specific form rather than just attacking and defending at various speeds. I think that would take your videos over the top.
@tterraj200010 жыл бұрын
+1!!!! the main problem with most youtube lightsabor duels is too much blad targeting, and not enough specific zone attacks and/or deffencess/parries. and how a lot of them will actualy use form indicative stances and u get all excited then a guy who started with the makashi salute and stance starts hacking away like a juyo practioner. in the it was a good fight and I loved the ending but go watch some of jensarsai's lightsabor form description videos and then go from there. ishvallan vegate I agree with u completly

Despite the many comments, some of which attempt to point out flaws or issues, I am going to be unique in pointing out the one massive issue that makes this entire video a no-win situation for Nate.... Quite simply, if he loses the fight then he just got beat by a kid wearing glasses. If he wins the fight, he just beat up a kid wearing glasses!!! Sarcasm and joking aside, however, is very entertaining. But alas this is the internet and I do have some criticism that I intend to be constructive and not negative in the least. When you are swinging your weapons, there is very little emphasis placed on maintaining any sort of momentum with the blade. Typically people assume that because the blade of the weapon has no weight, there would be no momentum to worry about, as the entire balance is within the hilt itself. The mechanics of the weapon involve a powerful magnetic containment field to restrict and redirect the plasma energy that forms the blade. This magnetic field is not solid, obviously, but it has properties that give a sort of "heft" to the blade. A saber in motion tends to have angular momentum, and there is a gyroscopic effect taking place overall. Good examples of this are seen in Episode III as well as VI, when the Saber Throw is used. Both Master Yoda and Darth Vader throw their weapons, and despite the fact that all the weight of the weapon is in the hilt, the center of rotation when thrown is not where the point of balance is at all. Nerd-commentary concluded, carry on with the murderous lightsaber mayhem!!

Hahahaha! Throwing a car would've been a hell of a VFX task for us back then. Even now it'd be significant. But fun fact: the original location was supposed to be in the middle of a street, and that moment had Alex stop a car with the Force, smashing the hood, and then ripping the side mirror off and chucking it at my head. We had to change locations at the last minute so we opted for one of the lights instead.

hey Jonathan, thanks for the comment. I'm actually the artist largely responsible for the opening shot, so when Nate suggested I answer your question, I obliged. I actually rendered the 3d saber out of Blender in a single pass, pulling focus on it with the 3d camera. Nate then timed that up in After Effects (I believe) with a DOF effect of his own. The saber itself took forever to render...I ended up sending Nate the proj file and we attacked it from opposite ends to get it done in time. :P

The hilt cut has been pointed out by others. I agree at this point. The props really were reflecting in the car, so that was necessary. It's called "attention to detail," and it was noticeable at 4k ;) I can see what you're saying on other stuff except for the lightning. Alex knocked my attack out of the way and took the opportunity to try to zap me from behind. It was entirely within character from the first one. And "not seeing them coming" seems to be an argument FOR, not against.
