@@brunoguitteny5862 Hello Bruno, thank you so much for sharing your views to me. I heard some sound recordings of his Amsterdam recital which was just 2 days ahead of his Paris recital. I’m also surprised by his Medtner. It’s more intense and more dramatic compared to before. The colors and the depth are more richer and deeper. I’m amazed by his development. Related to the suffocating feelings, I had the same feelings when I heard his recent Rach 3 cadenza. It’s also a kind of feeling that you can’t move and hard to breathe. His live concert is really such an unbelievable & unique spiritual experience.

Before hearing what Alexander just said about his intimate feel with the piano and bonding his music with his audience, he has come across to me in that deeply intimate relationship that he has spoken of, and when I hear him play certain excerpts from Rachmaninov, my heart swells and my tears flow, knowing I am experiencing that wonder which is flowing from Alexander's finger tips. It seems to matter not which media he is using, that magic touch is still there. I love that young man for what God is doing in him and through him. Kay Mohr

Another fascinating look into the development of a young pianist with great talent and a promising future. His comments on why he likes to perform pieces for solo piano, rather than with orchestras doing major concertos, got me thinking about my own responses to this program contrasted with my reaction to his performances with orchestra in the concertos that have been available on KZbin. The latter have been familiar to me for many years (85 or more) while most of what is in this program is my initial hearing, and I have a more subdued emotional response. Thank you, Eve, for this look into Sasha's artistic personality and the music he produces that illustrates it!

Sasha, like the main protagonist in one of my short stories, plays with intense passion (heart) and also with determined focus & accuracy. It's what I call, as a pianist myself, "Walking the Tight-Rope." Sasha has an incredible BALANCE of these 2 main ingredients, which delivers superlative renditions of the pieces he performs. "Walking the TightRope" . .
