He is definitely one of the genius of the world today. It is amazing to have this much repertoire at his youth. This is proof that he is a hard worker. He never loses dignity no matter how intense music is. This comes from his SOLID technique. I am look forward to his expressions change as he grows older.

Alexander, you have so moved and uplifted me, in this our time of Corvid-19 Lockdown, I hadn't known of you beforehand, your engagement with the keyboard, facial and hands, constantly has been breaking into a joyous laughter, I'm overcome with joy and wonderment for your absolute love for what you do - you performing is itself a work of art that enhances the beauty of what you are playing, it is infectious. Your gift is a gift to us who love the piano, you truly have it sing. I thank God for KZbin that brings you right into our living room. May you choose to come visit us in Aotearoa New Zealand one day, please.

Alexander Malofeev does not need to prove himself in any further competitions. Whether or not he wins the approval of any panel of judges, he is an inspired artist with technical ability that allows him to communicate with a depth that is beyond his years. Just hearing and seeing him on KZbin is overwhelming. What must it be like to hear and see him in person? I hope that we in the USA will be able to find out for ourselves soon! Bravo Alexander!

I'd rather attend a performance by Malofeev than any of the other contestants by far. His playing crackles with intensity and brilliance. He brings drama and great excitement to all the warhorses. Play on, Maestro Malofeev. The judges at TCH XVI couldn't restrain their jealousy.

@@artemmarkaryan5523 Alexander was 17 yo here. He may perform this differently now at age 20. On the other hand, reading all the comments on here tells me that many would disagree with you, but again, age 17 to age 20 can matter quite a lot.

Interesting piano concerto, very Russian and there's obvious influence of Franz Liszt in it, to whom he dedicated it. Somehow I find it more interesting than Liszt's piano concertos (I'm not crazy about Liszt's piano concertos). It's very virtuosic but very digestible. No doubt you have total control of the keyboard (you play the octaves very well). I find your interpretation a little violent, tough. Your Forti sound like Prokofiev's at times, and the melodies sound a little metronomic. If you focused on the lyrical aspect, a little more (make the piano sing more), and controlled the forti (less aggressive), it'll sound even more interesting. Just a few details... Valery Gergiev is a brilliant conductor. Bravi!!
