He is totally lost in the music. No fancy extravagant gesticulating nor showmanship drama for the audience. So honest, simple, genuine, and a little shyly clumsy when he takes his applause. Yet delivers the most colourful, and passionate renditions I have ever heard. This is a man playing piano, not a pianist performing tricks. I think I'm in love.

When I discovered this Scriabin master piece played by Garrick Olsohn I spent days and weeks listening it once and again. The second movement is to dream closed eyes and repeat it go go go, no stopping. Great performance by Russians in Mother Russia. Мать-Россия!!!!

A most compelling performance. Mr. Korobeinikov exercises patience with the tempi which results in a more beautiful performance than most. He has much inner feeling for the concerto in total...rather than just spots here and there. Bravo!

Outstanding performance.!!! Scrabin's compositions are rhythmically, tonally and aesthetically complex. His compositional language seems to sooth the ear while tempesting the soul and always playful. What I like most about this performance is the absolute respect and high-esteemed collaboration between the pianist and the conductor. Also very much enjoyed the camera shot... makes one feel like "the performer." Lastly, I hope Mr. Korobeinikov comes to Los Angeles, Ca. ASAP!!!!

What,no 3rd 'Bravo!'?? I must confess to being mildly astonished-Why?? Was the vibrato a tad too ebullient? Or perhaps, too much pizzicato after the 2nd cadenza? Or maybe you found the pianist's 12-day growth a distraction? Heaven's to Betsy,some people are hard to please- I for one thought it a magnificent performance,but you can never please everyone I suppose!🤓

A true Faberge egg, and the second movement is the jewel within the egg. I'll never understand why this piece isn't performed more often, at least outside of Russia; it's so vastly superior to many of the concerto repertoire mainstays. Maybe it's for the best that it isn't played so often: perhaps such caviar would cloy if it were more readily available.

It turns out this concert is written very inconvenient for pianists. Many chords require very painful arm expansion - always risk for pianist to get traumatized. I'm pretty sure if Scriabin himself played this concert , he wouldn't have followed his own score completely. He had relatively small hands.
@robert.m67553 жыл бұрын
@@ediccartman7252 Let's not forget that Scriabin was also a great pianist himself. He literally strained his left hand because he played the piano too much. He could easily play for hours upon hours without stopping.
@gabbydreyar8534 Жыл бұрын
@@ediccartman7252 you're completely correct on this. I'm currently playing this concerto, and while most of it is quite comfortable, the 3rd movement is a killer. It is famously known that Scriabin didn't really play his own notes, but changed it up to maintain the melody mainly

An excellent performance both technically and artistically. However I was only able to enjoy it properly once I closed my eyes and just listened to it as I found Korobeinikov's continually moving mouth during the performance totally distracting. Whether he was chewing or has a nervous mouth action or it was simply an affectation I do not know but that I really hated. Shame for such a wonderful performance to be spoilt in this unnecessary manner :(
