Morozevich defeated Anand once in King's Gambit....a long time ago (Moscow PCA-Intel GP (1995)) . After the game Maurice famously said "a 19th century performance by 17 year old Morozevich". But then time changes.....and this is what the present looks like.

Black was winning either way, but yes, your are right, Qf5+ simplifies the position so much that it would have probably resulted in an instant resign. (After Qf5+ Rf2 black can even take sac the queen for the rook, because the c pawn cannot be stopped.)
