Alexander Rybak - Theme and Variations w/ art by Mats Paulson (Columbia College assignment nr. 2)

I'm so happy the legendary Mats Paulson wanted to contribute with his art! This was one of my first assignment at Columbia College where I'm doing master studies for film music. I was to write a piano theme that describes a person (I chose sad, as always). Then we did variations for different moods!

The tunes sound so nostalgic and remind me of my childhood. They remind me of the sundays were my siblings and I had always to go back home after a nice weekend at our mother's place. What i heard was... -in the 1rst variation everyone in the village was happy, enthousiastic and dancing but suddenlly -in the 2nd variation something unknown came and left the people hurt in consequence -variation 3 sadness and discourage took place and everything is cold... -in variation 4 someone went investiguating motivated and confirm to descover the truth of what happened but -in variation 5 all the hope and motivation that everyone counted on 'to find the truth' was gone... -so in variation 6 a person...(it could be maybe an angel, awitch or an indicator) sudenlly appeared and came with answers ...so then u can continue imagining the end of the story ^,^ -I liked that... with one picure accompagned with music u can imagine a hole new world and life. Bravo u did a good work ^^ and sorri for my mistakes...^,^ Thank you, and we love u^^
