Mate, if you want to bring up resumes, McGregor and his thin-ass resume in 2015 wasn't even close to Aldo. But yet McGregor went up against a legendary fighter who had 7 title defenses and smoked him, because you know why? In a fight, resumes are worthless. It's because even though Oliveira has crushed his recent competition in his later career, the betting odds and the fans count him out against bigger names like Poirier and Gaethje. Hell, people were calling Poirier the uncrowned champ. Gaethje called him a quitter, Khabib calls him a bad black belt

The quitter narrative was disrespectful but pretty much stopped after he came back against Chandler. But somehow the narrative shifted from he's a quitter to he's disrespected... Volk got dissed by everyone, the fans, the media, Dana, commentators like DC and Anik who's normally very impartial and it took three more dominant wins and the #2 P4P rank before people acknowledged him as the best FW even though he already had 2 wins against Holloway
