How far ahead of time do you record the episode? To me, a Friday episode would be great if you could record on Thursday after playing with the changes and giving first impressions. If not, a Monday episode would be cool because it gives you more time to play with the changes to give more seasoned takes.

I would love a Friday Snapchat that way we get to hear both of your thoughts on the OTAs after they happen. I also think it would give way for a possible fun segment that would sort of bring back the draft days of the show. Taking whatever four cards they change from the OTA, and figuring out how to fit them in a deck together. That way the meta is always getting a true shake up.

One card that hates me that you guys didn't mention: Gambit When I play it, it will always pick a card in an armor lane. When the opponent plays it as a last turn hail mary, it will snipe exactly what they need to hit.

I like electro on 3 into shuri, zola the shuri and then odin the zola for 2x 32 odins on 6. Can also slot magic on turn 5 in place of electro. I built an adam warlock opener based around this and had a lot of success. Board looks dead until those odins show up so opponent almost always snaps. And ive only ever seen 1 other person use it.

I loved the passionate monologue you (Alex) gave on people not engaging with deck building. I've never tried any of the cookie cutter decks I've seen on any of these channels. I've been building my own decks since day 1. And I think that's been the most rewarding and immersive aspect of the game for me. Between yourself and Cozy you have duel-handedly made understanding the Marvel Snap meta both easier to navigate and more fun than I ever thought it could be! I am 51 years old. Been a gamer since 1979 (Grandstand 6000 Deluxe console) but I have never delved into any of these card-based/turned-based table-top games...until Marvel Snap. ...and I am now hooked!! I am predominantly "free-to-play". However I have purchased all the season passes up to date. Zabu being my favourite. Hit Monkey a very close second now. Anyway...I digress... I have watched every one of your Snapchats with Cozy avidly and this latest one was easily the best yet. In particular the segment on deck design. That was truly eye-opening and enthrawling. I have attempted to create a few decks with varying degrees of success! You mentioned a while back about a "Deck Test" feature. I believe this is vital for successful deckbuilding. That said I believe that a created deck should have a limit to how many times it is used in this test feature. Five, Ten, Twenty times...whatever...I mean...you can only spend so much time on the driving range before you have to take it to the course right? Anyway...enough rambling Alex mate. I just wanted to thank you for your ongoing commitment to this game. It is very much appreciated (from a fan`s perspective). i dont have a problem with galactus except for one thing he should be changed to add "always revealed last" because he plays too well with priority where even if my card is gonna be destroyed by him i can get the on reveal effect potentially and get some value. the way it is right now it feels like sometimes galactus is also a "counterspell" for the cards you played that turn which is just a feels bad in that it limits your options even more even if you predict him

Been running a pretty interesting combo since this week's episode when you were talking about Adam warlock. I ended up throwing a deck together built around Adam warlock, a couple guardians of the Galaxy cards with the Daredevil/professor X package and bast. A combo I like a lot is the rescue with various cards, including the Prof X play bit often times you have to play her out without prof X but then she's power 9 and gets shang chi whether you have initiative or not because of how the card triggers however if you bast her, she only loses 1 power, putting her underneath the shang chi threshold!

What I like the most about marvel snap is the 3 locations sistem and getting to play the board and guess what is the opponent going to do and where. Galactus destroys that, he makes everything so boring. It doesnt matter if I have something to counter him or not, in both cases he makes the gameplan be plain and linear.

I've played over 200 games with Titania at this point as I love playing Clog/Junk decks. This card has netted me many more cubes than lost, there is the occassional misplay where you jump her with Green Goblin at 4 and they don't fill the lane, letting them mind game you turn 6. But wow is she strong. You can clog up a lane with her early on with Widow & Debriis, and then spend the last 3 turns fulfilling another lane. Love her, never tried her with Zero because her ability is too good!

i know different people like and hate different thing, but the prevalence of cards that change the rules of the game -- sandman, leech, galactus -- are clearly the biggest offenders. people just want to make and play a deck, and those cards basically say "nah"

Sandman and leech have a counter each. Galactus has like 5 counters it's fine and any competent player can disrupt it or retreat. Sandman and leech is enchantress or cosmo. Galactus is fine. Most cards don't have multiple ways to disrupt it.

Sandman and Galactus are pretty damned predictable. You see what they're doing early and you play differently. Couple of generally useful tools in the deck and you stand a great chance. This also means playing those decks is harder. Galactus especially - you have to be able to pivot into some other winning condition on a dime if you see them proactively countering you. Leech is still garbage. In any of the decks that can get him out early, you have to assume he's dropping every turn. Your odds of winning drop through the floor. And for the person playing him, no biggie. I'm glad his popularity dropped off again, but the moment he's back he's feel bad. It's like the Shuri deck. The problem isn't JUST that you have a hard time countering it. It's also SUPER EASY to play. It creates this arbitrary skill floor divide. Anyone can play Shuri optimally. Playing optimally against her requires exactly the right tools, exactly the right plays, perfect prediction, perfect RNG, it's all too much.

27:50 If they don't want Galactus at the top of the meta, they shouldn't require him being 6k tokens... Honestly, I still hold the opinion that the Token shop was one of the worst things implemented into Snap. It doesn't really help anyone. They think it does, but honestly... I was collecting cards faster from the Collector's Cache. I remember the last like, 5 or so pool 3 cards, I'd pin a card... then get it in a Cache. Then I'd have to wait 8 hours before pinning the next. And I'd pin the next, then get that one from a cache. I was getting the Cache's faster than I was getting tokens to use in the shop and thus getting cards before I could buy them with tokens. I know they said they were going to change it up and make Tokens easier to acquire and all that... But I just would rather have a crafting system in the game instead. Allow me to scrap unwanted cards and or variants and then use the scraps to create any cards that has been revealed in my catalogue. Even if that requires coming across the card in a game for the first time. I'd rather having the Collector Caches and a crafting system over the token shop that, lets be honest, is just a way for Snap to push their bundles that shouldn't be worth anywhere near a hundred dollars.

I feel like Galactus is almost the opposite to Mr Negative in terms of win/cube rate. Mr Negative, low win rate, big high roll potential for 8 cubers. Galactus is high win rate because people just retreat, but usually you just nab the 2 cubes. so unless you can trick the opponent into thinking theyll win, you barely get the 8 cubes

My 5 most hated cards eh? Aight here are the first 5 that come to mind for me - Iceman - For all the obvious reasons in this video, can ruin your curve and whole game plan. Dracula - Almost no counterplay at all, cannot be interacted with by vast majority of tech/counter cards (Only movement such as Magneto/Aero will interact with him). Galactus - 4-6 turns of me wasting my time playing cards as they all get nuked and then a 30+ power Knull plus Death show up. Lockjaw - Seeing people turn 0 and 1-cost cards into Leech/Dino/Chavez/Magneto/Infinaut etc etc is just plain infuriating, or being able to play tech cards like Leech/Shang for their utility but then them switching for a higher power or another "free" tech card annoys me greatly. Finally, She-Hulk - Frustratingly strong for the utility she has. Can be played in just about any deck, requires little risk (needing to float a couple of energy and watch out for Shang Chi are the "risks" involved") for huge reward as she can be played with loads of other cards.

My favorite combo right now is Invisible Woman + Luke Cage + Hazmat. They never see it coming, and because it happens at the end of the game, Hazmat hits everything. I used to hate Scorpion, but like Cozy, once you unlock Cage and slot him into your decks, Scorpion doesn't feel oppressive. Whether it's the animation or it's the sneak peek into their deck, I've always preferred Yondu over Iceman. Yet Iceman is always played while Yondu doesn't see much action in Pool 3. Most hated cards for me are primarily the ones I see over and over and over again: Red Skull, Knull, Sunspot, Patriot, and Professor X.

I'm with Cozy on Bounce Move. You can do some CRAZY stuff with Human Torch and Taskmaster. It's very possible to get both to over 50 or 100 power. On top of that, if all goes well, Torch will be on your hand going into turn 6 (after you've moved and bounced him multiple times), so you likely won't have priority and you can avoid Killmonger and Shang Chi. This deck is gonna become cracked when Ghost Spider comes out.

I agree with most of the hated picks but my sleeper pick is Dracula. My constant rules in marvel snap are as follows: Iceman always hits the card you didn’t want him to, Iron man is always in my hand if I play psylocke into negative and Dracula will always hit infinaut. On the off chance that I commit to a Dracula lane I’m punished and the only time Dracula does not hit a good card is if I could’ve won by playing into it.

Instead of hated cards, if I could just choose locations in general, I would choose that.... If I had to choose 5 cards though (a preface being most of these are my choices because they specifically attack the deck I play most, a Invisible Woman/MODOK/Hela variation), I would choose: Iceman, Enchantress, Rogue, Storm, and sadly, my current most hated card (even though I'm using the current season Rian Gonzales avatar 😅) is Cosmo. A turn 6 Cosmo into my Invisible Woman/MODOK/Hela lane makes me incredibly salty..... I'm sorry doggo!!

Thanos is easily the most hated card I have used in SNAP. I recently started using him and am not even using a typical "Thanos Deck". The reactions I get are people either automatically leaving the game, aggressive snapping, and normally emote spanning every time I lose. I don't have Shuri but suppose that card has the same experience.

For buffs and nerfs, it should always be remembered that series 1 and 2 are kind of their own meta. So buffing and nerfing those cards has a huge impact on the new player experience (something Glenn somewhat mentioned when discussing sunspot)

But I spent hours and lost 5 ranks trying to make something work with him. I’m not even halfway into pool 3, so I’m missing several great cards that people seem to run with him. Anyway, it was rough, but I tried.

I hate leech with a passion lol. At least with Galactus (wich I own and play as part of my 3 or 4 seasonal deck) you can always kind of see it coming or just escape without remorse lol. Or better, win that one lane. because the game is kind of a new "just 1 location thing", I feel like it's a cool new twist. With Leech, I tend to tap the thumbs up agressively when I win lol. When I loose to Galactus, I always think I should have done better. When I lose to a Leech, i feel a little bit like someone cheats lol.

Leech is the most frustrating, not only because of it shutting so much down, but also because I feel like there is an obvious nerf to get it on the level of other tech cards. If its effect only lasted 1 turn then a turn 4 leech gives options back on 6 and only shuts down 1 turn while keeping its original purpose

My personal most hated: 1) SANDMAN - and by a long way too. 2) SHURI - bring on the nerf. 3) LEECH. People seriously Wave into this... 4) ICEMAN. Hi Sera. Hi Magick. Hi Professor X. 5) THANOS - 1 cost Scarlet Witch, 1 cost Psylocke, always comes with Lockjaw, nearly always comes with Leech. Now comes with Killmonger for a free Death. Honorary mention - SUNSPOT because he appears turn 1 on the opposite side of the board in 90% of my games and I'm actually sick of seeing him. HELA/LOCKJAW/JUBILEE, basically all the gamble cards that require no skill and pull out big cards for cheap.

Galactus is one of the highest variance cards, though. I have played most every single meta deck many times, Sera Control, Lockjaw Thanos, Rocks and Hawks, etc. Whenever I play Galactus, however, I have to retreat from at least half the games just because the locations hard brick Galactus. Depending on your build of the deck, you auto lose to Central Park. The deck needs to be able to craft lanes and leave on open for Galactus to drop into, and its especially dangerous if you are playing a turn 6 Galactus deck where you are wide open for junk decks/cards. Cards like Debrii can shut down the card as early as turn 3. Leech kills the deck. Polaris/Aero can ruin their gameplan. If they are casting Galactus off wave, you can wreck their lane with Magneto. I won a game a few days ago AGAINST Galactus with Ghost into the Galactus lane. Then on 6 I dropped Shang Chi and won vs his Death + Knull. Most of the builds of the deck are middling if they do get Galactus, and if you throw junk into the lane they are clearly avoiding or drop a Cosmo in it, the rest of their deck is clunky or useless.

Great pod guys! When you guys were talking about Rescue there was a adjustment I always thought would help her: When she triggers it happens before either player’s cards flip. This means that they can shang chi it even if they have priority. I think it would really help her if she triggered based on when your cards flip. So if you didn’t have priority you could make sure they couldn’t throw a cheeky Shang to wipe it off the board!

14:45 "One draw from Adam Warlock is immediately worth it" - surely that's objectively not true? You could slot any other card instead of Adam and you'd get the same effect (drawing a card) and save 2 energy. Adam Warlock only seems worth it if it draws at least 2 cards or if it causes a reaction from your opponent that you can exploit.

Just a little note, Hulkbuster + Nightcrawler doesn’t make it a 1/6. He becomes a 4/6 because of the cost associated with Hulkbuster and isn’t really that valuable in my opinion

My most hated card has to be Enchantress. I love me some ongoing and nothing gets me to drop an F-bomb like an Enchantress on my Dino, Darkhawk, or whatever.

for me my most hated card is she-hulk She is simply too good right now in every deck but also because I am a long-time goose enjoyer and her being discounted to 1-2-3 actually gets around Goose even though the game considers her a 6 mana card on board AND counts it as "playing a 6 mana card" for quests. Shes even more frustrating with shuri right now because I play a list with goose and mystique so against Shuri I can lock down two lanes before the red skull turn but half the time they just take off turn five and then play taskmaster she-hulk for 18 power at both and still wins, INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING when shes already too good on her own

My top 5 least favorite cards: Shang Chi, sunspot, cosmo, she hulk, wave Iceman isn't the worst IMO but I do find him a bit annoying. Scorpion not at all. Blade is fine and for Alex's complaint about blade, ebony maw is so much worse. I only hate Yondu when yondu goes after my critical cards but cable is so much worse than yondu on those cases. My biggest problem with yond however... is when I have America Chavez because it feels like he gets her 50% of the time. Mister Negative is absolutely fine. Rouge is not a problem at all. OK Alex, if you hate scarlet witch so much try getting her as a turn 6 play. I cannot tell you how much I've won thanks to scarlet witch in my surfer giganto deck on turn 6. I can't really say I care for black widow much no love no hate. Titania was my first pool 4 card (first edition). And I got her VERY early in the token shop life cycle (mind you I got her through reserves). She used to be fantastic because mind games were so easy to predict. Now my opponents have figured out that ignoring it is a very good idea.

Definite love hate relationship with Moon Knight. Dracula Discard is one of my favorite decks to play, but I swear. Moon Knight always kills a key piece for me and garbage for my opponent.

I've always hated Shang Chi, but since half the players are using him, I hate him more than any other card right now. It is a hard counter to the decks I like to play and just feels like a free brainless win for my opponent. Having to retreat on turn 6 just because I would lose IF my opponent has the card is a real buzz kill for a lot of fun decks
