Alexandra residents still waiting for container homes

Residents of Alexandra, who have been advocating for the occupation of the City of Johannesburg container homes, may face an extended wait before receiving their allocations.
Member of the Mayoral Committee for Human Settlements, Mlungisi Mabaso, stated that the container units, which have remained unoccupied for nearly four years, will only be allocated once they have undergone refurbishment and have been certified safe by engineers.
Community leaders and activists, Nkele Galedzana and Nthabiseng Ratsela have more on the housing plight faced by residents.
