Colors come and go in home design just like in fashion, but as my favorite Home Economics teacher used to say, “ Fashion is trendy, but style is timeless.” This room will never go out of style. Great neutral pallet and great use of texture and contrast. It is very relaxing and inviting and yes, Zen. Bedrooms are supposed to be a place to de stress, unwind, relax and sleep. A neutral pallet allows the eyes to rest. I’d say you hit it out of the park. Sister/ client is happy! That’s what counts in the end. Good job!

Honestly, I don’t know how influencers do it. I would imagine it has the possibility to destroy confidence and increase indecision. I hope it does not drive you too crazy. After working in a call center for four years I'm very much over trying to make everyone happy and caring about what people think of me. I used to be a massive people pleaser and I used to care SO MUCH what people thought. I am going to start a KZbin channel hopefully in the next couple months and I'm now confident I'll have the same attitude Alexandra has. I think most people learn to not care. I went through this evolution of design and professionalism with my sister. I loved what she did with her rooms as a teenager and asked for her 'help' with my room. Now she can stay in my aesthetic and functionality, and she finally managed to teach me some skills. Working with siblings is never the easiest, but I am very grateful, she was still willing to after some very harsh criticism on my part.

This video displayed how to add texture to enhance what could be plain - the large pillows are exceptionally grand with their large ribbing and color, the bedspread also has nice texture and the double rugs works.

People were right, though. The last makeover upgraded the room in terms of aesthetic (although that wasn't my favorite), but downgraded the room in terms of functionality. Her sister didn't keep the ladder, clothes rod or turned over basket. She instead got another dresser, a bedside table, a vanity and brought her bookshelf back in.

I absolutely love the bird cage lamp in your old bedroom but I'm sure glad that I have found your channel. Its completely inspiring me to get serious and clean out and redo my bedroom in my apartment. Unfortunately i don't have any closets but I have a space next to a fireplace that doesn't work and it has double bars in it to hang my clothes and on the other side is the walk way to the living room that has a vanity table and zero lighting on one side and small shelves on the wall that the fireplace is on. Other than that I have awkward shelves in the bathroom that you can't access the back side of them. And my washer and dryer are in a cutout space in the wall that they stole some of the hallway from the front door to the apartment door and now that is hard for a regular person to get into it but I can't block it for safety reasons. Of course I have a ton of clothes and decorations for every holiday and no place to keep anything that is easy for me to get to anything and everything is in banana boxes so unless i had labeled them no clue what is in them and i have actually combined most of them so they don't have what was originally in them anyway. I think that it will take over a month to just get through the mess. And to make it worse i actually have 6 tvs and only 5 rooms including the bathroom and my eldest son who was only 28, passed away in February so I have everything that he has left in the world in totes and suitcases in my living room. Overwhelming and frustrating but I'm not really ready to part with his stuff and because of the loss im having trouble going through my youngest sons toys and papers from school. Hes only 8 and his room is overflowing with his toys some of my clothes and art supplies and a dollhouse and dollhouse stuff oh and im sure more of his older brother's stuff is in there also.
