I am LIVING for this vlog! Middle grade spooky stories are my bread and butter. The Graveyard book is so good, the City of Ghosts series is one of my favorites, I just loved all of this so much. I already have Dead Voices on my TBR, and I need to read it soon! Ready for some spooky vibes. I also absolutely adore The Night Gardener, so I can''t wait to hear what you think about it. Great job!

That hotel room! I want the guys job that did the tour. 😂 I’m so glad you enjoyed Dead Voices! I think it’s much creepier than Small Spaces, but if you liked Dead Voices I think you’ll absolutely enjoy Small Spaces. Gaiman is a MASTER. Every reading level, doesn’t matter, he crafts amazing stories. I completely agree. He’s my absolute favorite as well! I just read Tunnel of Bones recently, and while I preferred City of Ghosts (I think the setting was more personal to me, having grandparents who came from Scotland), you are so right about character development in Tunnel. We learn so much about Jacob specifically and I love him! Amazing vlog, as always. ♥️

I read the Creepover books (well, one of them) by P.J. Night when I was in 7th grade and I was terrified by it! It's also a middle grade series and the books are really short. I probably shouldn't have watched this vlog in the dark, because now I'm scared! The haunted hotel freaked me out!

I'm so excited about Dead Voices! I read Small Spaces last October and I preordered Dead Voices as soon as I found out it was being released. However, it's been sitting on my shelf because something in me feels like I need to wait for a cold winter day to snuggle up and read it. (I live in Texas, so good luck to me there lol) Like you, Tunnel of Bones was my favorite so far of that series and I can't WAIT to see what happens next!! The Graveyard Book is phenomenal. You chose some top tier books for this middle grade reading vlog and I LOVED the whole thing. Now, off to watch your Spookathon Day 1 video!

I love your vlogs! I will be giving The Graveyard (audio)Book a try, and Dead Voices/the first one. :) I'm currently reading an adult thriller that is super spooky (The Whisper Man) and for some reason am listening to it at night before I sleep because apparently I'm crazy haha no nightmares yet though

Yes, I love Casper! I wish I had the movie so I could watch every October. I don't use blankets when I read. I never get cozy before I start reading. Don't know why, but I never felt the need to do it I guess... Constable & Toop is nowhere to be found for me. I don't understand, but I'll try to remember to look for it when I go to California. Maybe Barnes and Noble has it somehow... Oh, wait! I found it on Amazon. Yay! I'm adding this to my next purchase, but that will come later this year because I can't afford buying more books at this time. And I love you so much as well! I'm seriously so glad I found you! By the way, I love all the baked goods you have in your videos. Makes me wanna get some cookies and cake to have with my coffee or while I'm reading, which I rarely do. It would be a nice change to do this. Maybe one day I will do it. Next time I have cookies I'll try it out. LOL

I'm watching last year's spooky read videos because I'm excited to get started this year and we're almost, but not quite there yet. This was a particularly charming and fun video to watch. I've read almost all these books and so it was fun to watch your reaction to them. The Graveyard Book is one of my top favorite books of any genre. I agree Dead Voices was scary. Even scarier, try Frozen Charlotte by Alex Bell. It's a trilogy but I've only read the first book which wrapped up well. Also good for October - Small Spaces, if you haven't read it yet, it's Halloween themed. The House in Poplar Wood by K.E. Ormsbee, which is just mildly scary but the story line takes place leading up to Halloween. And Watch Hollow by Gregory Funaro which managed to be a bit scary but also whimsical. I think it's a duology.

I just watched this blog after it was suggested in this morning's vlog! It was so well done! Time well spent!! Of course, I just added these books to my cart for this fall! I went to the Edinburgh dungeons on a school trip and there is a Mary king’s close reconstruction there and so when I was reading the Mary kings close part of city of ghosts I could feel those horrible creepy walls behind me as I was reading I was terrified and I hadn’t even been to the real one. (Mary kings close was a part of Edinburgh where families were were literally bricked into there homes and left to die during the plague. Like there is a whole other city that Edinburgh was literally built on top of)
