Hey Lexi, I'm back for a few videos today. I figured that since I was not reading anymore (wanting to take a break from what I was reading) and had nothing to do but be bored all day, I thought "why not watch Lexi's videos?" So, here I am! I think I will watch at least 2 or 3 videos today, and I'll see if I can watch some more tomorrow, but I have something going on, so not sure if I can do anything else tomorrow... I have not read A Million Junes yet, but it's on my TBR still, of course. If I can, I will buy it in California. See you in the next video!

Records, yes! If I had space for them, that's what I would have. I don't have space for CDs either but that's okay, we have Spotify for that now. Not sure what type of music I would buy, though. I'd have to think long and hard about that one. A Million Junes, I need to read that soon. Thanks for the reminder. Actually, it's in my Audible cart so it's coming to the TBR soon. I'm probably gonna buy the physical copy as well. I love your shelves. I dream of one day having a house where I can have a good 2 full floors or so dedicated just to books. Maybe one floor for middle grade and another for YA but then I would have to find a way to store any adult books I may acquire. And picture books. I need to think about this one too. It's been raining here this morning as well. Not sure if it's still raining but I can't hear it now. Maybe it's over. Where the Crawdads Sing was a 5 star read for me. It was the 2nd book I read after I came back to reading and after I finished all of Carrie Fisher's books (should I count her books as the first ones I read when I came back to reading or should I start with Eleanor Oliphant and Crawdads? LOL). I loved it so much that it made me decide to keep reading (same with Carrie's books) so I feel that it's responsible for me not giving up on reading. I didn't have much luck with a bunch of the next books I read at that time. 2018. Horrible books for a long while after Crawdads and Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. Those 2 were my first 2 (after Carrie's 5 books) and 5 stars and now on my top reads of all-time. :) I read Crawdads in 3 days! Took me 2 weeks for Eleanor, though. LOL Still awesome!

ITS MY NEW FAVORITE ALBUM!!! I'm sad I'm just now discovering it do you have any other jazz recommendations??
@autumnritchie14734 жыл бұрын
Alexandra Roselyn Yes! 😊 I would recommend Giant Steps, Lush Life, Blue Train, Coltrane’s Sound by John Coltrane. Definitely Giant Steps is sooo good & one of my fave albums by him! Also, Kind of Blue by Miles Davis is a fave of mine. The Best of Miles Davis & John Coltrane (1955-1961) is really good! The New Standard by Herbie Hancock is one that I highly recommend! The Cannonball Adderley Nat Adderley Quintet Live In Europe What’s This Thing Called Soul? (literally the longest title 😂😂😂) You need this album! It’s sooo good! Invitation by Joe Sample is really pretty & I actually used to listen to that on Fridays during & after work. With The Tenors of Our Time by Roy Hargrove, I like. Lastly, Song For My Father by Horace Silver! Another major fave of mine! :) Highly recommend! I feel like that’s so much! 😂😂😂 But those are some of my fave jazz artists & albums! 🤗🤗🤗 I love most things by Coltrane...but some of his music can get out there so I tried to recommend the ones that are more mellow. But really I would try out different records from these artists! I really like Herbie Hancock & Joe Sample a lot because they do a lot with the piano. This has made me feel like I need to go back into my archives because I haven’t listened to my older jazz as much these & I was still kind of exploring the older jazz genre myself! :) Let me know if you try & like any of these! 🤗💕✨

oh yay hi! And yes! My bookclub read The Thirteenth Tale a few years back and it was very unsettling (which I enjoyed). And then there was a Kate Mortan book I thought was equally unsettling...I think was The Distant Hours? Her best book is The Forgotten Garden but that one isn't quite as gothic. And then for classics I personally love Wuthering Heights and The Picture of Dorian Grey!! I hope that helps!! ❤️

@alexandraroselyn4 жыл бұрын
I feel like someone else will have a better recipe, but I put it with the wax in an oven safe dish and top it with marmalade (apricot, strawberry or blackberry are all favorites). I also top it with fruit (berries or apricots). I bake it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 20 minutes. Most recipes say 7 minutes but I really like the fruit to get soft. And then et voilà! Serve and cut through the wax and it’ll melt out with the marmalade and fruit! It’s very good!!

Oh man, I love the story of Mexican Gothic, but I didn’t really like Noemi. She frustrated me so much. I gave it 4 stars because I did enjoy it though. The Random House website has paper dolls of Noemi you can print out. I liked Where the Crawdads Sing. I loved the nature writing, but again I didn’t love Kaya. I just wish she didn’t turn into a manic pixie dream girl. I gave it a four also though. 😂
