The thing with a series of unfortunate events is that as an adult these stories are DEPRESSING. Those poor children just could never catch a break, i remember crying through most of them because I just wanted to give them a good home. I had to drop the series because my empathy was killing me. OMG, I was obsessed with A Series of Unfortunate Events! They are so witty and I actually think discovering them as an adult will allow you to see layers your younger self might have overlooked. BTW, the audio books are amazing! Tim Curry narrates them & there’s fun musical touches by a group called the Gothic Archies. Highly recommend! 🍂

Omg! I just finished Other Birds and thoroughly enjoyed the book. I loved getting to know the characters, their stories/secrets and the surrounding scenery. Each of the characters brought something special to the story that made it so amazing. I was only sorry I got to the end so soon. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

I'm reading The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, which is about young academic who is told by her father Dracula was real and still living. I'm picking a mixture of Dark Academia and Creepy, but in October I'll be participating in Victober.
