And usually the threshold for those freebies is spending like $50-60 on products, less than the cost of the freaking calendar.

I literally challenge any of these companies to top that.

All those packets can be received by the brands if you email them asking to try out their products, and then all the sample sizes... Any Beauty Con, Woman Con etc has bags of goodies they give out at the entrance and it looks exactly like the type of stuff you get there...

At least the QVC wasn’t as pricy as the Coach takeout tray. I’m so inspired by these boxes that I wanna make my own Advent Box this year. For all of $50, I could put 2 gifts a day in a reusable bag and tissue for 25 days. I could even put a week or two of numbered bags and make em hunt for the day with a lil teaser of weight to get to it. My kid lives at college, but he’ll be home all month for Christmas. The thing with qvc is you have 30 days to return your items- jewellery, cosmetics even used so you can send that advent calendar back ( at your expense) and they will refund the cost ( less postage). The pro Collogen cleansing balm is lovely . Try it I use it all the time

What they ( and other companies like this do a lot) did was they put the price they think the products should be worth and not their actual retail worth. Then claim that's the price then half it. When really they just trying to cover up they are charging you $69 just for the box it came it plus the making of the advent calendar and the shipping and handling. Then they are charging the last $10 for the actual items in the calendar. That's why things like this are just scams. I'd rather get an advent calendar full of different chocolate or the Nintendo Mario Advent Calendar they sent out to some people. But that's just me.

So I’m extremely glad that I happened across this reveal! She would’ve wasted a LOT of money on a ton of samples and we would’ve felt the same way you did while opening the daily “gifts”!! It’s a decent calendar ( saw an online unboxing ) and I got the calendar yesterday. Today they sent me a Christmas Catalogue and it had exactly the same Floral Street Sample! On to the QVC calendar, how shocking, but remember you can return it to them! I’m off to check out the UK QVC site to see if they have it with the same items. One of the best advent calendars I’ve ever had was from L’Occitane. It was a lot of travel sized products and kept my travel bag stocked for years. Found a few favorites that way.

The Lancer Caviar and Lime is an incredibly expensive product, which does work well, but until your skin gets used to it can burn the heck out of it. I never was able to leave it on the full 15 minutes, but still loved the results. The Sunday Riley Good Genes is another wonderful and expensive product that gives very good results and with no burning sensations. In my opinion those two were the only items that boosted any price value for that let down of a calendar.

Tova is something my mom wore. Made me think she threw that out there to make me know she's still watching over me. I can't believe that they thought this calender would equal the cost of this box let alone how much it was supposed to be worth. Crazy I tell ya! You still make these videos worth watching. The Tova perfume is from Tova Borgnine who is the wife of Ernest Borgnine who was a quit a famous actor in the 50s up until the 90s. Besides being an actress Tova has been in the makeup game since 1965 starting with opening and running a makeup company with her first husband.
