This performance was after they won. They would sing the encore performance (partially) in English.

The Performance is also in English, because, this is the performance, AFTER they won. The original Live Performance is in Swedish only. The free choice of language in the competion, was first introduced in 1999, along with the abolishment of the Live Symphony Orchestra
@Asa...S3 жыл бұрын
Not first introduced, it was re-introduced, it has gone back and forth, several times. 1956-1965 Free choice of language. (Everyone sang in their national language anyway, except Sweden who chose to sing in English in 1965, so then they made the rule) 1966-1972 Forced to sing in national languages. 1973-1976 Free choice of language 1977-1999 Forced to sing in national languages. 1999-now Free choice of language

@@Asa...S Didn't know it that specific, but i've always wondered about the choice of languages, så thanks for the info 🙂

The translated English refrain feels a bit cooler than the original lyrics are in Swedish… 😂 My translation: Diggi loo diggi ley Everybody’s looking at me When I’m dancing around in the streets And the whole world smiled Diggi loo diggi ley, a sudden downpour* You can hardly believe your eyes Oh, I almost start soaring In my golden shoes (”Diggi loo diggi ley” are just made up words) *(or ”the clouds dissipated” - not sure what they’re reffering to)

As usual, you haven't made any research prior making your video. You would have known that these stuffy people clapping at the end were actually the Heirs to the Throne of Luxembourg and some foreign ambassadors, so, by definition, they had to show some restraint. Nothing to laugh about, then.
