He's not singing about him losing his cellphone. :/ His singing about wanting to break his cellphone in anger because despite being a device that can reach anyone anywhere in the world, it still reach those who are in heaven. Not being able to talk to those people he misses "kills" him too. The lyrics can sound a bit pretentious at times, but it's sad the message of the song definitely went over everyone's head, even of those who read the translation of the lyrics.

That's why you don't send over complicated pretentious acts especially in foreign language to Eurovision. Like, nobody could understand whats going on and the song itself is not catchy, not fun to listen to, it's just weird. And the funniest part, that fans of this tried to blame the camera and lighting work for this failing to reach the final. Guys, the camera work was really the last problem of this act.

I love this artistic entry from Portugal. I'm not surprised it didn't do well at Eurovision, but I am nonetheless disappointed. It's a shame the contest could not go beyond its preconcieved ideas of what constitutes a good song and performance and reward this.

That was my favourite back in 2019. The perfect example how you turn a potentially winning song into a non-qualifier by changing some small things in the staging

somebody that he loved died and he missed him so much he wanted to call that person and speak with him so much that he broke his cellphone with all of those tries, he is stuck in the past not being able to look into the future and even when live calls him he is still stuck and wants to kill that feeling of loneliness , its not about a broken mobile is about destroying what is keeping him stuck in the loop of missing someone and deep depression. its about him killing the feeling or the feeling killing him by the end he says he killed it however he also drops into the stairs, possibly dead or exhausted. it has a lot of layers and i hate people that just dismiss it as being a song about a mobile phone

This song made me quite a lot of money. I said it would never qualify for the final, evey one else i know thought it would be top 3 in final. Quite a lot of free beer and drinks came my way the months after.

To be honest, I think ESC fans fall in love with horse shit like this just because it makes them feel deep, artsy and diverse in their music taste. People like something that makes them feel like they are smart or more evolved than others. And this weird ass, unlistenable, pretentious act gave them exactly that.

Maybe realize and accept that people can have different musical preferences, that's all. Not better or worse, just different. As someone who considers this one of their favorite Esc songs and performances of all time: liking it doesn't make me feel "deep" or better than others, not at all. I just genuinely enjoy the song and the performance. The genre(s) and vibe is right up my alley, it's the type of stuff I listen to on a regular basis outside of Eurovision as well. We get it, you think it's weird and unlistenable, that's your opinion and you're clearly not alone in thinking so. Totally fine, we can agree to disagree. But pretending your opinion is anything more than just that - one opinion among many - is wildly condescending lol.
