It has been great to experience 2010's Untill now with Mike and Lauren. I'm gonna miss them, but I'm sure whatever you come up with after moving to Germany is gonna be really good too. The "chanting" in the Norwegian song, comes from the culture of the native population in Scandinavia, Northern Finland and Northern Russia. They're called Sami.(Simular to the American native population). You should check out a Swedish/Sami singer, Jon Henrik Fjällgren. He performed in the Swedish try out for Eurovision. He also won Sweden's got Talent in 2014. His chanting is something else! I'd suggest "Mountain Dance" (official music video), "Daniel's joik" (Sweden's got Talent, 2014) and "Jag är fri" (= I'm free. Melodifestivalen, 2015. He was first runner up after Måns Zelmerlöw, who won Eurovision that year).

I like Sebi (Slovenia) because it makes me fall asleep in a good way. It's not boring, it's relaxing and ethereal. As for the staging, the close up shots are a little uncomfortable, but the wide shots match the ethereal vibe and make it seem more intimate.

From all the reaction videos I've seen, Mike and Lauren are definitely my favorite Americans to react to Eurovision. It's been amazing watching them react to all these years. I wish them tons of luck with the baby, and I hope you can update us on them despite not being with them in person. I almost didn't want to start watching this yet, knowing it will be the last of this series. What I love is that you've turned them into regular Eurovision viewers. It doesn't matter that people like different songs (that's Eurovision!), but they "get it" now. They have their own perspective, but that's what makes it interesting and enjoyable.

Never underestimate the skill involved in choosing a song that lives exactly in the narrow overlaps between totally lame and absolutely fabulous - between taking yourself too seriously and goofing around - between self conscious melodrama and accidental comedy - between high camp diversity and 'family entertainment'. No American competition has all that. One of my earliest memories is sitting with my (British) parents, watching ABBA win with Waterloo (giving away my age there.... damn I'm old!) so that song set the bench mark for me, and every song since has been a failed yet noble attempt to live up to that masterpiece.
