Great insights, Alex! We truly believe that cold emailing is not dead. Actually, it's a great opportunity for those who know how to do it. This strategy is a number game --- you should always do constant lead generation since not all of the leads you have will convert 1:1. So, having a great resource where to get constant emails would put you in advantage to reach more prospects. Here's a strategy we find effective: find prospects on LinkedIn, get their names & location and put in on a sheet, then use a data append tool to unlock the email addresses, including phone numbers.

Hi Chris, I did some testing with sending email and if the recipients email address is a gmail type it will almost always go to the spam folder if you have an Unsubscribe link or probably even the word Unsubscribe in the email. The only exception to this would be after they recipient has white listed your email. However if you are sending the email to a corporate email address you will probably have much betters success but I have not done extensive testing to corporate email address other then my own which received the email even with the unsubscribe link. Google has powerful algorithms. I also found if you put any links in your email when sending to gmail accounts they will also go to spam but he exception to this is if you link to a youtube video or ebay or most other very popular sites. I hope this helps. I am still trying to figure out the best solution for all this since there are now so many road blocks and regulations when sending emails. It may be better to build a system to collect phone leads and use some kind of service like Text Deliver since they claim 98 percent open rates.

Gmail allows 100-150 emails per inbox per day. To send more you'd need to open a second gmail account. For the trade show, the best shot is to send a salesman around the room asking people about their companies, and pitching your company to them. Gather emails and follow up both immediately and one week later to book meetings. A simple "Great meeting you Mark. Let's get a call on the calendar to talk about increasing your sales?" or whatever your company offers. 10 meetings booked per salesman conference day is what we aim for.

GDPR concerns natural persons only, it's clearly written in the very first sentence of the document (check Article 1). He's approaching businesses.

This is the case when an e-mail address is structured in the following way: [e-mail], [e-mail], or [e-mail]. From these email addresses can be derived what the initials of the person using the email address are, what his first or last name is and where this person works. Therefore, the person using this email address is identifiable based on the email address. Thus, it is not allowed to send a cold email to such email addresses. An email address is not considered to be personal data when no natural person can be identified from it. This is the case when for example the following email address is used: [e-mail] or [e-mail]. These email addresses are not considered to be personal data. Thus, you can use them for cold emailing in Europe.

There is nothing wrong to send cold email to such person. If receiver of the email has a problem with it, he should report it to his company IT department that his name and surname is being disclosed publicly by using his email.

Sending with a gmail address? Actually no, I used to send exclusively from a gmail and saw no issues.

RBastien set up spf and dkim records on a domain with g suite and you shouldn’t have these issues. Also make sure you put emails through an email verifier because if they aren’t valid emails anymore they could be spam traps
