What a great series. As an old bloke recovering from Covid, and not having ridden my bike since being knocked up in the air six years ago, these three films are giving me the urge to gird up my loins and pump up the tyres. Cheers 👍🏽

For 20 years I've gone to Hampstead heath on the weekend to escape the London crowds and relax, since lockdown I don't go anywhere near the place as it's packed and find myself going for quiet walks in the City. Complete roles reverse :)

I used to walk on Hampstead Heath with someone who I met by one of the ponds. After he died, it turned out that he had a few skeletons in his closet. A lot of people had good cause to dislike him. None-the-less I still recall our promenades together fondly. I slept rough on the heath around 2015. The last time I was there was three years ago, when I did Tom Bolton's river Fleet walk.

PITCH - "Alexei Sayle's Rickshaw Tours", every week a different celebrity in the back going round the metropolis talking bollocks about where they were brought up, started work, etc. with a little bit of interesting history and humour thrown in, all shot in your unique breathless/go-pro style - put me down as Executive Producer ! Seriously though, loved seeing the sights I would never of got to see, the canal one is my favourite so far, looking forward to the next one.

I hear the sound of a myriad of comedians saying ‘why hadn’t I done this?’ So simple and so very charming, I’m curious to see where this goes figuratively and literally. It’s about time Alexei did some new media content. You’ve got to embrace the capitalist pigs companies once in a while.

Hampstead Heath is really nice and quiet about 7 or 8 in the morning, it's more than a park, it's like being in the countryside. I used to jog round most Sunday mornings , Michael Palin passed me going the other direction quite a few times, he always said hello. As for Bill Oddie, he was loitering furtively near the ducks in the pond, I said Good Morning and he just muttered something grumpily. I'm not a rude person so I said Up Yours shortarse under my breath and jogged home.

Behind that hedge just on your left at the beginning is a lovely wee cricket ground. At least I hope it's still there, looked after, and played on every summer. There used to be cricket squares in the open, between the hedged ground and the athletics track, but I think they're gone now.

I can't help but think that Alexei needs to do each route again, but this time dressed as his alter-ego and criticising his previous ride's commentary for its lack of political weight. At the end of each journey they could have a ride-off, perhaps the longest wheelie, or even a Sergio Leone-esque stand-off in handlebars at dawn. Regardless, I shall watch and enjoy them all in their current format.
