Remember this and enjoyed seeing Glanville and the Oilers take it on chin! It was justice -- Cincinnati style.

The following season, Cincinnati also won twice against Houston by big scores: 40-20 and 41-14, but it never felt like Wyche ran up the score on Jack Pardee. Must have been a Glanville thing

0:30 - Ahmad Rashad looks absolutely miserable in the cold. Lol But seriously, are announcer booths unheated? Do they leave the windows open?
@michaelcossey8474
@michaelcossey8474 Жыл бұрын
Tradition is that many announcers do leave the windows open when possible. I've even heard announcers lament being in a booth with windows that can't open.
@fantasticvoyage262
@fantasticvoyage262 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the windows are always left open so the sounds of the game aren't muted. Joe Buck recently admitted to this. There's no point heating the booth if the windows are left open.

Boomer Esiason was an excellent QB. He was 34 seconds away from being Super Bowl MVP vs the 1988 49ers.

Montana to Taylor ended that fantasy. Go 49ers!

@@MarvinClay-ck7zj Yes. It’s good that you remember it was Taylor. Every now & then I find myself reminding ppl that the TD wasn’t Rice. That Super Bowl was quintessential Bill Wall with Montana. When a great coach has a QB whom he trusts to execute the plays then he really game plan all three phases of the game. Walsh, Parcels & Belichick were teachers & coaches who had their teams prepared for everything.
@MarvinClay-ck7zj
@MarvinClay-ck7zj 7 ай бұрын
@r.williamcomm7693 I apologize for reminding you of that. Been a 49er fan since I was 10 on 1988. I now know how it feels to lose super bowls since the 49ers have lost their last three in dramatic fashion.

Oh ok cool. In my personal opinion if there was one game to be played and the fate of the universe was at stake the guy I want as my quarterback is and always will be Joseph Clifford Montana Jr.

At least it wasn't Glanville's birthday--I can just see Sam leading the Riverfront Stadium crowd in a singalong of "Happy Birthday", much like what the Dallas Cowboys did to Joe Theismann in 1985 when they defeated him and the Redskins at Texas Stadium. And, yes, Sam would have done this, IMO...

The Browns won the division that year with a win over Minnesota that day and the Oilers the following week. They haven’t won a division title since then. Talk about a tight Division: Cleveland 9-6-1 Houston 9-7-0 Pittsburgh 9-7-0 Cincinnati 8-8-0

@stevencooke1027 Reich didn't stop shelling out pain when his playing days ended. He then went to indy and kicked the colts in the nads every chance his "4th and 23 we'll go for it in the shadow of our own goalpost" would allow.
