RIP Coach Wyche. A true legend in the NFL and your famous, "You don't live in Cleveland" speech will live on forever. You deserve to be in the NFL Hall Of Fame.

My little brother and I were also at this game. Steve Largent caught a record setting TD and the Bengals lost a heartbreaker! Sam was the best, rest in peace....

Prayers for Sam Wyche family today. 30 years later, his speech is an all time classic, and a smart way to defuse the negative on-field/ in-stadium situation.

Browns fan, always hated the Bengals, but it was a great moment when Sam did this. I remember it like yesterday.

It reminds us how great those division rivalries were back in the day. People were so passionate about it, like they are about politics today. I miss those days

I wish I could have heard about his famous moment where he beat Jerry Glanvilles Houston Oilers 61-7. That was another great moment by Sam Wyche. R.I.P Sam Wyche

Lifelong Browns loyalist but I loved Sam Wyche, even when I kind of hated him. Revolutionary coach, and an uncompromising one. I loved how he didn't try to BS anybody after the 61-7 game. He said straight up, "I just don't like Jerry Glanville."
@motors51533 жыл бұрын
@@pronkb000 Sam was a humorless douchebag, Gerry was one funny SOB. Only a little man would run up a score like that, we all learned that in little league.

In the late 80s and early 90s, the AFC Central was a tough division to play, especially on the road. Having to go to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Houston, and Pittsburgh were tough places to play

Oh, hell yes!!! I've been an Oiler/Titan fan since 1989. That clip of Sam Wyche standing up to the crowd like that still rouses me up. I love that he got right to the point, no sugar coating. 'Shape up, or get the f**k out!!'

Underrated coach for sure... Built Cincinnati into a power house from the ground up and had a 3/4 year run they could have won a super bowl... Then as for Tampa Tony Dungy gets all the credit for building the Bucs into a power house but the foundation was Coach Wyche when he was there..Drafted Derrick Brooks, Warren Sapp, John Lynch and may more... One of the guys that never gets any credit as being a great coach..

Wyche was one of a kind. Great football mind and as a diehard fan of the Bengals, I can honestly say that when he was the coach we never left to go to the bathroom until commercial LOL Never knew what he was going to do, I remember the 89 Oilers game, that game was Wyche vs Glanville and Sam won BIG

As a Clevelander, I remember the local sports talk show clowns trying their hardest to convince me and everyone else that Wyche personally insulted every Clevelander .....but we were never as stupid as Cleveland media thougt us to be .... great move by wicky wacky Wyche..I'll always admire that man
