Zenith I think he’ll dig the lyrics and music a lot but I really want to hear what he thinks of Howard’s vocals and how they differed from Jesse. I’ve said before that they both brought two different styles to the band but neither changed what KSE was and are. I love and respect KSE as a whole and I’m stoked that Alex is reacting to them.

yeah, it's the next logical step! I personally prefer Jesse over Howard but not for much, Howard is a beast! IDK, there's something about Jesse's voice that makes you feel what he feels...Another idea could be having Alex react to Days of Grace since "Hymn of a broken man" is practically another KSE album (and a very good one)...

Now it's time to introduce you to Howard. Another amazing vocalist and nobody else could have substituted Jesse in his prolonged absence. Very nice guy too who sat and talked to my best friend who was months in recovery from a severe car on pedestrian accident. Held up the line just to talk to my friend and give him his well wishes and was so interested that he survived. Sucked for the rest of the people but made my friend's day. I suggest Rose of Sharyn or End of Heartache

Metal, as in all music, makes you feel something that can only be expressed through angst. It's not about making others feel pain and suffering, its more to help (you as the listener) deal with your own in a way that only you can. Ever song has a different meaning for each person.
@hiiambarney44893 жыл бұрын
Beautifully said Chris! I feel though, Metal Songs, even though they appear superficial in sound really stick these emotions to you. Too bad corporations see Music as a sale enhancing background performance and people started to catch on to it a lot. There are INCREDIBLY strong songs still made every day, most of them will never be heard though, even if they could help them through their struggle.

This is the band (and song) that got me into the harder metal scene. Jesse Leach takes a lot of crap for his voice (which is silly, but lots prefer KsE other singer). He is a fantastic song writer. Nearly all of his lyrics are both meaningful and thought provoking.

His cleans were not good in first stint with KsE, but has gotten amazing in his return but Howard pushed KsE to new heights and his voice is so haunting and melodic and is just amazing, I love both and Signal Fire is a testament to that. Killswitch Engage - My Curse Slipknot - Disasterpiece i think you're right with the fact that metalhead are open minded .. some lyrics of pop songs just talk about superficial stuff .. like '' Girl i love you let's dance together '' or shit like that .. ( i'm not judging pop music ) the majority of metal music has so much meanings , lets say you can even interpretate the lyrics a little ... if you have been trough some thought moments metal is here to help you out for suree ... a song can have so much meaning for you that's the special thing , everyone hear a song from a different prospective .. that's such an hard thing to explain .. Jesse Leach is my all-time favorite vocalist and song writer.... hands down, no one moves me and inspires me like Jesse. His raw energy, power and deliverance is like no other. When you see him live, you feel the passion in his voice every second of the show from start to finish. It's an experience like no other. The album Alive or Just Breathing is simply iconic from start to finish and was the beginning of the metalcore genre. If you didn't know, Jesse has 2 other current bands / side projects... Times of Grace and The Empire Shall Fall. Would love to see some reaction videos of them. Times of Grace was a side project of Adam D's, the rhythm guitarist and back-up vocalist for Killswitch Engage. He wrote the album while laid up in a hospital bed. Adam recorded all guitars, bass, drums (he plays them all) and back-up vocals for the album himself and recruited old friend and band mate Jesse Leach for lead vocals. They released the album and recruited a few fellow musicians to tour live, including Killswitch lead guitarist Joel. I saw them live, filmed the whole set while standing next to Adam D's parents in the reserved balcony (whole show on my channel), that was one my all-time favorite shows. Times of Grace's lyrics are very spiritual, positive, inspiring and uplifting. Check out ---> Times of Grace - Live In Love [OFFICIAL VIDEO] -----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/imPKlGaagrCfqtE and Times Of Grace - Strength In Numbers [OFFICIAL VIDEO] -----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIiZeKeBmreiZpI ..... or search for Where the Spirit Leads Me, Hymn of a Broken Man, Until the End of Days, The End of Eternity or literally anything off the album.... it's that damn good. The Empire Shall Fall was (still is) Jesse's band prior to him rejoining Killswitch. They put out a fully independent album and an EP with 2 more EPs in the works that got put on hold when Jesse rejoined Killswitch. They are a local band to me... saw them many times in small intimate settings of a couple hundred people. Check out Awaken, Lords of War, Voices Forming Weapons, These Colors Bleed, Choir of Angels, We the People, The Kingdom... Jesse's lyrics are so powerful and meaningful. There's a good lyric video of Voices Forming Weapons on KZbin ---> kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIeyqZSdoLdlmas I recorded this video of As The City Sleeps ----> kzbin.info/www/bejne/aGWvqGOje7yhfKM right up close and personal standing on the front of the stage. The dude wearing the 'fuck racism' shirt is the singer for Acaro, he came out and did this song w/ Jesse... it was awesome!!! The sound is rather 'raw'... but that's how i like it! Fun fact: My friend was the drummer in one of Jesse's earlier bands before Killswitch, Nothing Stays Gold (all songs on my channel), they used to practice in my friend's basement. :) Anyway, sorry for writing a book. lol One love.

KSE was my first concert I ever attended, by complete chance. (friend got sick and gave me the ticket.) this song is my favorite one from them and one of my top fav songs. i really love it when metal bands switch up vocals, death growls, to melodic, back to death growls or high pitch screams (why i love Kyo in dir en grey.)

I feel like this is why I listen to metal, bc the artists are absolutely intelligent people and the things they do with lyrics and music and meanings are off the charts intelligent sometimes. I love getting in their heads and learning new things or just connecting with the artists through their music. It's awesome what these bands can do and accomplish and the meanings behind things are cool to not only understand, but feel through their music.

I remember I seen this video back in the day when videos on TV were a thing. This song introduced me to KSE for the first time, and I've been a fan ever since.

This song is why Jessie is my dude. Nothing against Howard, he's awesome too, but Jessie is just too nostalgic of a singer for me.

Awesome how you came up with the conclusion at the end man, I feel the same way, open minded intelligent people and on top of that, a friendly community, which is funny, because from experience, that is the exact opposite of what people outside the metal community judge the music and its fans

Had to watch this again, just love it so much! I like the mixture you like too and I have a super super good suggestion! It’s along the lines of scream/singing like this, just a bit different in guitar, I would love to hear your reaction to this band! Man can’t say this enough! Love the work man! 39K! Congrats! I know you don’t like suggestion comments constantly but this band made me realise a band I haven’t seen suggested so here goes man ;) love ya! Keep up the awesome work HEFNERDS for life ;) Artist: Veil of Maya Song: Aeris

Man. you must watch Killswitch engage live with Howard Jones. both are good frontman. but for me Howard is on a different level live. killswitch engage - Rose of sharyn (live)

For me Howard is just better. I know Jesse is their original front singer but I think Killswitch Engage with Howard is the best
