Yes! So glad to see some KSE on this channel. Just a little background. The vocalist in this video is Jesse Leach. He was the original vocalist for the band from '99-2002. He left in 2002 due to issues with depression and was replaced by another amazing vocalist named Howard Jones from 2002-2012. Jones then left the band in 2012 because of issues managing his diabetes while constantly being on tour as well as some mental health struggles. Jesse Leach then came back and has been the vocalist again since then. Jones is still on good terms with the band and he did guest vocals along with Leach on a song called "The Signal Fire" that's well worth a listen. He's also in a band called "Light the Torch" that has toured with KSE, and has a side project called SION with KZbinr Jared Dines. Backing vocals in KSE are lead guitarist Adam Dutkiewitcz who also has produced all but one of their albums as well as albums for several other metal bands.

There's always a debate of Howard and Jesse but I'm a Jesse fan (music was heavier with him IMO) but I do love me some Howard too. Definitely recommend some KSE with both singers. My Last Serenade (jesse) Holy Diver (Howard), Rose of Sharyn (Howard), I am Broken too (jesse) The Signal Fire (both!!) and lastly should check out Jesse and Adam D's band Times of Grace as they are amazing!
@HugoStiglitz882 ай бұрын
It's funny because Howard actually preferred doing heavier music but when they were with him they definitely went softer. I think that's part of why he quit because when I met him he seemed pretty dissatisfied with their direction. But I also vastly prefer Jesse. Not only does he fit the band better IMO, I just prefer his style. Like the melodies he chooses, the way he delivers his choruses, and his screams are false chord screams while Howards are fry screams. Plus the bluesy style Jesse started adopting when he joined Seemless and kept using it when he did The Empire Shall Fall who were amazing and kind like prog metalcore (check out the First Redemption, As the City Sleeps, or We The People) Howard is definitely the more "professional" singer, and would be a lot better at certain genres but I just prefer Jesse overall Also I don't pay attention to lyrics much but from what I know, i prefer Jesse's lyrics. His are a lot deeper and not always obvious while Howard's are a bit more upfront and I've kind of always preferred the former approach even if it means I have no idea what the song is about lol

They're the 2nd metalcore band but definitely the one that brought it to the masses. Overcast beat them to it and pioneered the genre but they picked up where Overcast left off. The singer formed Shadows Fall, and the bass player joined Killswitch Engage Shadows Fall is another incredible 2000s metalcore band. I still think Stepping outside the circle is one of the greatest metal songs ever written. Also think that about To Ashes as well it's just a shame there's no recording of it with great production quality.
@HugoStiglitz882 ай бұрын

Yea but Take This Oath has both singers have both singers and its a million times better than signal fire. Plus, even better than that, the End of Heartache version of Irreversal has both of them singing too and that's easily top 5 of their best songs though the original version is definitely better. They cut out a part of the song, and also the breakdown is toned down too much while on the self titled album it was about as epic as anything I've ever heard

I'm impressed with any young woman who appreciates harsh music. I grew up in a time when female peers didn't understand. They thought music had to be nice, and us boys who enjoyed harsh music were immature ... or even moronic. The irony is that metal addressed deep issues, well beyond the shallow topics of most pop music. You should react to Slayer, the ultimate harsh and deep band. But you should also do Opeth. Akerfeldt's harsh vocals are gold standard.

Metal heads call this sing/scream dichotomy "good cop/bad cop" They're very integrative, coming from the hardcore scene but there's a ton of classic metal, power metal, extreme metal, punk and so on. Also their lead guitarist is a phenomenal song writer. Instead of the predictable "here's the break down part" the groove and breakdowns are integrated into the song itself. Also so many people have a bias towards or against the two singers but they're both great in their own ways
