Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

@@misterchoc123 like he said in this video a wise person learns from people failure and even better he learns more from a successful person, so you basically have to pay someone who did what you want to achieve to save you lots of time and years of failure trying to figure it out on your own. I mean time is money and yes you can always figure it out on your own but why would you want to when it can take a long time? Plus when you pay, you pay attention 💯 always consuming free content 90% of times doesn't motivation you to move you forward... Trust me I know from my own experiences and my clients ones. So You wouldn't not want it waste your hard earned money unless it's a very cheap program. Not to mention money is biggest motivator for almost everyone.

Two key points: 1. If you can't learn from someone elses mistakes (or better, success) you're gonna have to make every single mistake yourself. Alex did this with his supplement business. He couldn't close, then he closed one, then he learned from his closes until he could do it reliably in his sleep. 2. You need time under the bar.

I love seeing these videos and hearing you mention people thinking you had a quick and easy success route simply because they’re just now noticing you and your channels growth. BUT what most probably haven’t experienced, is actually seeing one of your first ads for gym launch (before you were yolked out) and thinking to myself “how tf did this guy just sign up 150 new gym clients in the most ghetto rundown looking gym I’ve ever seen” The growth I’ve personally seen in you gives me so much inspiration. And quite literally a couple of your videos have changed (probably even saved) my life. You’re an absolute legend.

The phenomenon you refer to has a scientific name: "The Dunning-Kruger" effect. You don't know what you don't know. On average a person who legitimately has more expertise will UNDERvalue their knowledge and a person with less expertise will OVERvalue their knowledge. This comes mainly from not knowing all the intricacies of that thing. To a complete outsider, programmers just type keys, lawyers just argue, and doctors just cut people open.

Might be one of your most important videos. You mentioned in another video that there's a huge discrepancy in how much volume it takes to be successful, versus what people expect it to take. I think that's largely because that discrepancy happens offline/behind the scenes and its 90%+ of the work, but social media only shows us the successes. Thanks for another great video Alex.

Esquimaux is a term that was historically used to refer to the Inuit and Yupik people of Alaska, Canada, and Greenland. However, the term is considered derogatory and outdated, and it is now considered disrespectful to use it because it means "fish eater" and they have said not liking people using this term. It is preferable to use the term "Inuit" or "Yupik" to refer to these indigenous peoples. (Wrote by GPT) Ps: snow is not "litteraly all they have" Thanks for all you do and all you teach, though. 🙂
