I dont think he is a lock for Rangers to grab him. Rangers like Byfield as well this will be interesting. Can't go wrong with either pick buuuttt..... LaFrenier can get rattled which playing in the NHL can be a bad thing in important games. Byfield doesn't get rattled like that

I've only seen limited footage of Lafreniere so not an expert. The thing that impresses me most about him is he seems so at ease most of the time, like he doesn't have to think consciously to know what is the correct play. He makes it look easy, you see him make a pass, or beat a defender and you think "yeah of course that's what he should have done" but most players would hesitate, it looks like harder work for them, and they make a different decision or get closed down. I'll be happy with him or Stutzle for Detroit!

He's a mixture between Auston Matthews, Connor McDavid and Patrick Kane. We'll see, but he certainly has the potential to be a "generational player" for sure. What I really like about his game is that Lafreniere is not afraid to hit and get physical when most players of his skill-set are rarely as physical as he is... As a Blackhawks fan I hope the Hawks lose the "play-in" round, then win the Lafreniere sweepstakes... I mean could you imagine a line like this?: Lafreniere - Strome/Dach - Kane ...... WOW!! I mean that line would virtually be unstoppable - it would look like the Harlem Globetrotters, lol..

SCARY! If I'm Ottawa though I would think about grabbing Drysdale with my second 1st pick, they are thin on RHD and a Chabot-Drysdale pairing would be nasty on the PP. They have some good guys at center that could be good top 6 like Norris, White, Brown (maybe), Chlapik, Pinto, etc.

Rather have Stutzle in my opinion. Byfield is young and if he learns to use his body more I think him, Laf, and Thachuk on the same forward corps would be nasty 😮😩 would be interesting. Also agree that if we have a second pick drop to 4-6 getting Drysdale would not be a bad move either. Thin on right side.

Skill wise, he might be slightly behind Stutzle but on the IQ and creativity level he's the best player I've seen at the draft in a long time, probably since McDavid. His strenght and balance are also comparable to McD imo. He has all the tools to make it work too, I really wish our habs can grab him as well but a Rossi or Holloway seems more realistic though :/

Le pire c'est que j'avais plusieurs clips de son jeu défensif :P. Il est très bon quand il décide de jouer défensivement. Il est 1km en avance sur Hughes l'an dernier au niveau défensif. Il jouait beaucoup de minutes alors parfois il coupait les coins ronds. En général, quand il décide de jouer défensivement il est très fiable.

You should look at doing a vid on Egor Sokolov, while he is a year and some older than Laff his numbers in relativity were better than those of Laff, he lead the Q in Even strength Primary pts (63). Egor was also much more efficient on the PP, he took 41 shots with a PP SH% of 19.51%, while Laff had 54 shots with a 9.26% pp sh %. But Laff had more Primary PP pts. 80% of Sokolov’s pts were primary. 77% of Laffs pts were primary.
