Just for future reference... tall pencil/slim trees work great is small spaces! It's nice that you put a tree up and decorated for Christmas this year! Merry Christmas! (My youngest got his first apartment last year and I purchased a 4' tree and sent it to him. I'm thinking a pencil tree might have been a better choice. He didn't put it up this year because there's not enough space) Looks great by the way!

I love watching people decorate for holidays! One thing, the garland. I saw a shorts where another creator puts white painting tape on the wall and then a clear command strip on top. That way, you can easily remove it when the holiday season is over and you don't have any holes. This was only top of mind because I just moved and never want to do the "move out deep clean" ever again.

Tips on the tree and cats. I left the pieces of the tree on the floor for a few hours so they could explore. By the time I put it up the tree was old news. Ha Also- you can buy a spray that’s citrus and some other herbs that cats HATE the smell. Spray it anywhere you want them to avoid. I’m working on becoming a professional cat trainer! Haha

Loved this! ❤Cute tree. I have home-made ornaments from our kids & grandkids and also my husband’s mom & grandma. I also have red cardinals on mine-one of my fave birds & I wrote a book with one on the cover. I love decorating it each year, have hot cocoa with marshmallows, & play Christmas music. I have two cats & they both love laying under it on the soft skirt and under the lights, but also have knocked down decorations at times, lol. I watch them around it (the hooks…ribbons to hang ornaments are better)! There is nice ambience with the fireplace videos (I think Netflix). It’s very soothing & I’ve fallen asleep to it! Nice job! I bet NYC is beautiful at Christmas, especially with the snow. Cute pj’s!

Absolutely get a platform for your tree haha please don't leave her on that cold floor. But also tip for the ribbon: you want to slowly twist the ribbon as you put it around your tree so it has a soft wrapping affect rather than looking like a mummy. That's what my mom always does and it looks like a Macy's tree :)

From one cat mom to another, invest in a tree stand collar (especially if you ever decide to use real trees in the future); it’ll limit the cats’ access to the tree and prevent climbing/breaking of ornaments. And personally, for a small tree like yours, I’d set it on top of a side table to give it some height.

Your tree looks great. If you ever want it to look taller, put it on a box and drape a piece of fabric or a sheet over the box. If you need the box to be sturdier, stack books on floor and place box over the books for a stronger base. I found gnome pillows from Pottery Barn. Easy to store away. Ck it out for gnomes. Burn some scented candles like Thyme Frasier Fir or one of Bath & Body Works Christmas scents and enjoy your December.

Here's the thing, I wouldn't care what the internet says.. it's your home, it's your budget and it's your space, and in terms of storage and otherwise. I haven't put up a Christmas tree in a decade because I have two cats who are 13 and like to get into mischief and being high places if you know what I mean. Do I have a tree yes do I have decor yes am I going to put it up no! I put up little touches here and there by the way I'm 411 and my tree is 6 ft 1 😂 I got it at Walmart for $24.98 unboxing day it was originally $200 something with the white lights. I've had cats and Christmas trees my whole life. Two words. . . fishing line. You can buy invisible fishing line at Home Depot, Dicks, anywhere like that. Take a long piece and tie around the top of your tree and then put it over to the back of the dresser. Put a thumbtack in the back of the dresser and tie the fishing line to the thumb tack. Same thing to the coat rack...fishing line on the tree and all the way to the coat rack. Thumb tack. Repeat. They may play in the tree but it will not fall over. Wahhhlahhh.
