This is one of the best videos to explain functions, thank you!

The way you explained the inferior function as a whisper of your calling in life gave me chills. This is actually a really interesting perspective and very helpful in terms of practical application. Thank you so much!

According to the previous videos in this playlist, I'm ISFP. 1. Fi - I have a strong moral compass and I value my own feelings above "the logical answer". Logic is valuable, but it's not always the best solution and rarely offers the compromise required for both social and introspective satisfaction. And while I love a well-written morally-grey character in fiction, when it comes to real-life, I have a tough time NOT boxing people into "right and wrong", "good and bad", "positive and negative". It's the only drawback of my strongest trait. 2. Se - I feel most myself when creating art, reading fantasy novels, writing poetry, and focusing on the detailed skills and practicalities of singing, playing music and understanding philosophical theories (despite not studying philosophy in college 😂). Despite my incredibly artistic nature, most people tell me I'm very grounded in reality, and that even my idealistic tendencies are on the more realistic side than other types (NF types especially). The drawback of this function is that I can often overdo it on the candy and alcohol, but I've been monitoring this closely and recently lost some weight ☺ 3. Ni - This is my crutch. This is why I keep being typed as INFP. But I'm genuinely healthier and happier when showing off my work to the outside world. I enjoy deep, philosophical conversation, but if I don't know exactly where it happened or who it happened with, I can't piece it together right in my head. I spend way too much time here and not enough time executing plans. 4. Te - My Te is underdeveloped, because I can plan FOR DAYS but will I actually listen to these plans? Haha NOPE. Procrastination queen right here. I'm gonna work on it though. Another aspect of this function that applies to me is "the need to be right". When my Fi argument is falling flat among NT/ST types, I can switch on the "logic" button and continue fighting my case. This can become a little unhealthy though, since it convinces me that I always have to justify everything I do. In ways, Te makes me more of a people-pleaser than even Fi or Se do. Until I have a consensus agreeing with me, I can feel very insecure. That's something I really need to address. I also find "the need to do things right" sends me into creative paralysis - I become perfectionistic about things I've never tried before, which makes me afraid to start. If you find yourself smiling and nodding along to this ENTIRE comment, congratulations!! You're probably an ISFP - and you were also probably mistyped!

I relate so so much. I am an INFP but relate to ISFP a ton. The Te part is spot on- being defensive and trying to prove myself. I also get creatively paralyzed if I want something to be perfect. I almost have to not care for me to do it. This is if I am unhealthy- the procrastination is terrible. If I know I have time I will take it. I also love planning but I am not great at implementing. Hence why I call myself a visionary. I would love to tell people what to do and send them faraway. I do think that I am more head in the clouds with my idealism although I try to pull in to reality. INFP differs with the NE Si in the middle. I would love to hear why you keep getting mistyped as INFP and how you discovered the truth.

Wow, this really resonated with me. I've been struggling with my type. I get types as ESFP, ENFP, and INFP (most of my results for E/I and N/S are close to the middle.) Honestly, my sister and two of my friends types as ISFPs and I feel so different from them that I didn't consider I could be one. I don't feel more introverted at times though, even though they're all more to the extreme introvert (I think two of them are mistypes though...). I think on of the differences in what you talked about with you actually delve into creative arts while I merely think about doing them, but never really start them. I think my Te tells me "it isn't going to be perfect, so just don't bother starting." When I've actually created something I'm also hesitant to share it with others because I usually see the imperfections. Then when others applaud me for it and say how amazing it is, I don't trust that they're being genuine, because...how could they not see the imperfections that I see...they're just being nice...right? I think one of the difference between ISFP and INFP, is the unhealthy loop you get caught in with the introverted functions. ISFP, as you said, gets caught in Fi/Ni, you can take in a lot of information but will struggle to piece it all together. Your Ni tell you that you NEED to understand it, but you get stressed out because your Ni isn't strong enough to actually figure it out. For the INFP, they get caught in Fi/Si, so they take information in and connect it to their Si (past memories and experiences, things that are nostalgic, but also things that are traumatic.) When unhealthy, they can start to relive those past experiences and get really down, doubting themselves, dwelling on embarrassing things they've said, wishing they had made difference choices, etc. To get out of it they need to allow their Ne and Te to take over and consider future possibilities and take action on them.

This was very good. I am still lost on just what the difference is with Se first vs last. If 4th means you don’t use it till mid 20s, then all those driver’s licenses, music lessons, school sports? So , obviously, I am next going to look at more of these 101 videos. 💙

Crystal clear video, but blackboard too far in background. Extremely difficult concept to decipher. Too rapid delivery. Guess best to start with her Basics 101 playlist. Which I’’ll do. Appears worthwhile. ThankU!

Her speaking speed was perfect for me, but when it came to reading and understanding what was being written on the screen, I had to pause and just take it in for a few moments. There's also an option to slow videos down in case the author speaks too swiftly for you.
