I really enjoy watching you Alex. But, nowadays your model building quality dropped significantly! As if you're not enjoying building models anymore. I feel that you made these videos as if this is an obligation or as if it is a job you have to do. I can't believe my eyes when I see you carelessly removing canopy masks leaving behind ugly scratch marks on canopy! Are you OK Alex? Is there something wrong in your life? My best wishes to you Alex...

Mixing paints is an art form in itself. As such everyone does it differently. For instance, I put the the lighter tones into the darker. I somehow have a knack for figuring just a little more than necessary (most of the time), but I always add very small amount of the lighter color bit by bit, mixing thoroughly with each drop as to sneak up on the desired end color. What I’ve found is most important, no matter how you approach custom mixed paints is to develop a process to track exactly the amounts of each color and follow that process methodically every single time you mix. That way, if you need to reproduce a color, either because you just didn’t mix enough to finish the portion (it happens) or realize, later on, you need that same color in a different area or you change direction with the paint scheme mid stream. This also applies when thinning paints. I keep a notebook because I’m just old school that way 🤓😜🤣, seriously, it’s because some paints require different portions (both within brands and when mixing brands) and there’s way too many proportions to store in the ole forgetter. 😜 I almost want to say, I can’t believe after all that great paint work, that you went and messed it up by using the meatball decals instead of painting them. But I remember this is a build review for the manufacture (which is an honor and shouldn’t veer from supplied materials. I’m about to start a 1/72 Airfix A6M build and until now have been unsure if I was was or wasn’t doing the rivets. Seeing it done here really helps. I’m definitely doing them. Thank you. The only concern I have is the canopy. I have to work it to improve the clarity because it will be my first time to add p.e. But the canopy must be closed for accuracy. The diorama it’s going in is for a competition then will be put up for sale. Also doing my first content with it (in box review & build videos). Just wish I was a better orator (kinda Ben Stien-y 🤓😜🤣). I guess folks will let me know how bad I am. 😎🤓😜 Great video, and really nice build.

I think your worrying to much on what other's think and belive me we ain't thinking what you may think us modellers are! I love the back story of the Zero you done, I love to know my build to before I will even start the build! If anyone said they were perfect at thining a white acrylic at the beginning I'd say "don't lie" lol happens all the time with white, sands and khakis! Great work! I'm more the armour builder but have recently been watching alot of planes and bought 3 kit's to mix it up get into building both and not just one subject matter all the time I got the 1.35 IL2 hobbyboss and the Storch recon plane and a 1.48 stukka I do like the stukka I've not found a nice 1.48 Zero in hobby shop as yet plenty 1.72 but way to small for me to enjoy your build is very nice I have a 1.72 spitfire there in the stash I got for Xmas from my wee cousin haha but to small for me.

It does indeed look a great kit. Question re the decals if I may. You use a scapel blade to help recess them into the panel line. Do you do this when the decals fully cured or whilst they are still soft? I'm guessing the latter. Also, I ordered a Bartsharp 186 today after seeing your recent builds and review of the brand. Looking forward to frying it out. Many thanks, John.

In the beginnings of WW2,the Japanese painted their zeros with a shade of off white;which was similar in color to RAF sky gray. From 1943 until the end of hostilities;in November of 1945,Japanese Zeros were painted with a blotchy field green pattern on the top,and an off white/sky grey color on the bottom. There were reports of allied reconnaissance aircraft;who have spotted and photographed;Japanese air fields and aircraft carriers, with Japanese planes painted RAF sky grey and RAF azure blue, amc grey and sky grey, flat gull grey and light ghost grey,USN haze grey,USN dark sea blue, ect.;as well as bearing the national insignias of the U.S.,Canada,U.K.,New Zealand, and Austraila,in an effort to fool allied aircraft, into thinking that the Japanese Zeros were allied aircraft;and shoot them down when they have realized too little;too late, that they were in fact enemy aircraft, disguised as allied aircraft. The fact that the Japanese used the colors and insignias;of other nations on their aircraft, was a clear and direct violation,of the Geneva convention accords for military aircraft, and R.O.E.Since the Japanese never signed onto the Geneva Convention accords;before the start of WW2,the Geneva Convention accords never applied to them.
