We all agree with you, it is a real banger. All Courtney's songs are great, and memorable, in their own way, but this is such a fun Rock song. Another one is 'That Girl Don't Live Here', if you haven't already heard it before.

Hi Alex. Great Reaction. So cool that you came across Courtney's music. She is amazing. You would have no way of knowing after just one song, but she is truly a generational level talent. Unbelievable vocal power, control and range. You just heard what a killer rock voice she has and when she is on stage, she dominates a stage like no other. However, her vocal versatility is astounding. Courtney is equally as great across so many genres besides rock. R&B, Funk, Soul, Ballads and more. The most incredible thing is, whatever the genre, there is never a drop off to the incredible quality of her music. Virtually all artists, even the biggest, have their comfort zone. Inside that zone, they are great, but take them outside that zone, and not so much. We've yet to see where Courtney's comfort zone ends, because she can sing virtually anything exquisitely. To hear one of her ballads is to truly appreciate what a gorgeous voice she has, You mentioned Courtney's appearance on AGT. Her audition went viral and now has over 1 billion overall on line views. Courtney herself is closing in on 3 billion views. She has die-hard fans from virtually every country in the world. While on AGT, Courtney sang exclusively classic rock from the 60's and 70's by the likes of James Brown, Tina Turner and Janis Joplin. Courtney was so great on AGT that she was almost immediately signed to a record deal at Syco/Arista records (Sony Music). After AGT, those that knew her from only there, viewed her as this fabulous stage dominating rocker, which she surely is. But, she is so, so much more. As I mentioned above, her range is astounding. So in 2019, she released an EP called the 'Cover Sessions' where she took some of the biggest recent hits across different genres, and re-invented them into her vision of the way they could have been sung. They were all sensational. The purpose was to highlight both her incredible vocal versatility and her off the charts creativity. That Courtney is not already a household name is mostly a matter of bad luck regarding timing. You mentioned the pandemic, which delayed her album release for over two years. However, there was more. She was slated to be the youngest performer at the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, but that was ultimately cancelled due to logistic and financial reasons. Then her label was sold, which caused more chaos. Then there was the fact that for years, her label kept trying to turn her into something she said she never wanted to be. Another pop princess. Does that incredible rock voice you just heard belong limited to pop songs? Fortunately, Courtney stood her ground and, as soon as she could, at the beginning of this year, she left her label and went independent, Courtney has a huge song library that she hasn't been able to release because of the reasons described above, but she has shared many of them, in whole or in part with fans, and they are all sensational. She is such a powerhouse as a songwriter. Since she has gone independent this year, she has already released four mind blowing originals. Her first three originals were non-rock. They were 'Breakable', a gorgeous gritty ballad, 'That Girl Don't Live Here', an amazing uptempo jazzy number with a touch of almost 1940's Swing and 'Call Me Back', which will rip your heart out every time you hear it. All are available on her KZbin channel. 'Monsters' was her first step back into her rock persona. When Courtney is in control of her own destiny, amazing things happen. Now that she's independent, she has said to expect a release every month or two. So buckle up. It's going to be an incredible ride. I can't wait to hear you react to more of Courtney's music.

Wow! So glad you found our Ms. Courtney Hadwin! Always happy seeing another rocker find her. Her voice is so freakin' versatile, as she's been demonstrating over first three originals released, and a 4-song Covers EP made when she was still 14/15 and under contract to both SYCO Music and Arista. At end of 4th cover, which she made her own and nailed perfectly, she mic dropped to kinda put an exclamation point on her ANSWER to doubters, critics, and the inevitable trolls who REALLY seemed attracted to her and harassed her incessently as a youngster growing up in the spotlight. She was 12 when she went on The Voice Kids UK in 2017, blind audition was Tina Turner's Nutbush City Limits, which she performed flawlessly, getting a standing ovation from most of the crowd. Finalist, standing on stage with 5 others when one of those others, Jess Folley, won. Blind audition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4bKnJhjit6XjtE Courtney was DETERMINED to be a rockstar like her idols, Tina Turner, James Brown, Janice Joplin, Otis Redding, Mick Jagger, The Beatles,.... She STUDIED all the old greats on KZbin vids of their performances, just as Mick and others of the time studied them in person. It SHOWS. Dad and whole family agreed she'd find a more welcoming audience in USA, so they came to AGT in 2018. She was still only 13 when she was to first audition for Simon Cowell and his crew of judges. Sick with stress at all her dreams coming down to this one audition, she couldn't go on when it was her time slot, so they sent another act through first. She was PAINFULLY shy, a very private child who'd been bullied already for her style of singing and dancing and the music she liked best. She went onstage, MelB talked with her to try to calm her down, and the rest, as they say, is history. By the time the first LIVE TV show occurred, she'd turned 14 and was ready to SHOW them what she could do, with less of the stress interfering. LISTEN first: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pYe1gKWnbtqYgsk Then WATCH: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKnIZH6ufbycoa8 The original videos have all been taken down by AGT, so we're forced to find other channels who still have the full clip, most cut out some key talk afterwards, others cut all but actual performance. Two extra special performances onstage with live audience for your perusal: 1) At 14, second time in front of Simon, she chose James Brown's 1965 Papa's Got A Brand New Bag to belt out. Of course she nailed it. Watch Simon at end. Howie Mandel, judge on opposite end of judges table, had given Courtney his 'Golden Buzzer' choice to advance her straight from audition to this live show. Simon gets up, walks over and bear-hugs Howie from behind, thanking him PROFUSELY for his Golden Buzzer choice of our Ms. Courtney. Astounding performance, as all 4 judges proclaimed. See for yourself: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXqwaYKhbclknLs 2) At 14, still, the following calendar year, AGT: The Champions debuted in January 2019. Simon signed Courtney in December 2018, and signed her up as youngest act to perform on the BIG stage at Woodstock 50. So this performance is of a more confident Courtney, under contract, preparing for her big debut at THE PREMIERE venue for her kind of music. She performed an original song, "Pretty Little Thing". Then the AGT vote system kicked her out AGAIN. THEN, the whole Woodstock 50 anniversary festival fell apart on everyone and got cancelled. THEN the pandemic hit, just after Simon decided to trade SYCO Music for Sony's share of his Reality TV empire, and SYCO Music faded away, ghosting its remaining artists. Arista is a USA company, and during pandemic, Courtney was constrained to UK, so tried to work remotely with remaining co-signer of her 'record deal' -- it apparently didn't go at all well. At time of this performance, back in January of 2019, our Ms. Courtney had an audience of quite possibly a BiLLION viewers of her AGT audition. By the time her contract ended and she refused to renew it, in December 2022, most of that audience had drifted away despite everything this youngster could do (ages 14-18) while label frittered away her audience. She released snippets of new songs on both TikTok and YT Shorts when that started, if rumor is correct, even got in some trouble over just how much she was giving people during pandemic. Oh well, long long story. Here's the phenomenal performance of this young rockstar at 14: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3KTeKWJmLuUrJI Enjoy! She ROCKS!

I didn't know her last song was Old Town's Road, on EP-4. Because that's where she dropped the mic when the song was finished. And now she's independent. So who owns the song, "Pretty Little Thing?"

There's a whole lot to learn about Courtney which you will get if you keep reacting to her. It does boil down to the thing you mentioned--her voice. There is not another like it, and it separates from the pop princesses of the day. As a stage performer she has no peer; her trajectory is boundless!

Great reaction! Thank you. I think the video will probably be out next week, the other three originals Courtney put out this year had videos come out pretty close on their heels and she's said she's working on it. Album January or February she said more than once. It's been an exciting year for her fans. The biggest group of us have been fans since her viral AGT audition in 2018 when she was 13. After four years under contract that produced only five cover songs with basic performance videos and none of her original music, she's gone independent. This year she's released her first four original songs and first three concept videos, with another video on the way, which she described in a typically mysterious way as a performance video with a twist, or something like that (You get used to that with Courtney😃). For more great Courtney Hadwin content, her AGT performances, Voice Kids UK the previous year at 12 years old, "Live Cover" sessions in 2019, and three other originals this year are the guideposts on the road to discovering her enormous talent and versatility. Hope to see you there again soon. Have a great day!

As with others of her cohort (cf. Angelina Jordan, Daneliya Tuleshova, Angelica Hale, etc.) who started singing/competing as young children and are now trying to make post-pandemic music careers. Life is complicated. Context matters, especially when judging performances. Even when enjoying performances, knowing context adds a tad extra insight into the experience, adds dimension.

@@rodneyholmes5908 I totally agree with you. Courtney can cross over into those areas that they specialise in. I know that she can sing Jazz, just like Angelina Jordan. And she can adapt her style and genre to sound like the rest of them too, vocally and genre-wise, her range is almost limitless. Courtz is the best thing to happen in a long time, I just hope that she can get the recognition she truly deserves. Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry... and the rest, pale in comparison to what Courtney can achieve.

@@givingin2G4Courtz as with other colhort That's not happening, They do not carry the complexities of Courtney's voice, they do not have the stage performance of courtney why put her in that league she pays for her own music, her own videos flies around different countries seriously, it's about courtney, not the others

Alex, you are right about Anouk! Frankly, I had forgotten about her, and others have of course compared Ms. Courtney Hadwin to Janice Joplin (especially when they see her early live onstage performances where she shows at 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 years old just what a stage beast she is, at least once the music starts and her shyness JUST MELTS AWAY as the music takes over). Also compared to James Brown, Mick Jagger, and Axl Rose (some wondered if she might be Axl Rose's daughter...NOPE...just in spirit, having STUDIED many of the same old greats that Axl grew up watching/listening to/learning from).
