If that's the gained weight she is suppose to have it isn't. It looks like the normal fill out you have when you approach adulthood, no more skinny upper arms and thighs. I can just imagine Pat Benatar and Cyndi Lauper sitting on the floor sharing a few puffs in Lionel's den and saying "fk that was a good song."

Thanks for your reaction! I like you forthright manner. Courtney is a great artist but she still has to pass the reactor test. Did you know that Little Steve's Underground Garage (Steve van Zandt, Springsteen's guitarist) and its members voted Monsters the #1 coolest new song of 2023?

I agree that saying someone gained weight isn´t bullying, but what does it have to do with anyone’s music? I don´t see the point in mentioning it. Yes, it´s unhealthy, but that´s not any of your business. Let people be whatever weight they want to be, it doesn´t affect your life. This is not meant as hate against you, I will still watch your reactions. I just find it sad that people focus on other people’s weight, and any young person will most definitely be hurt if someone tells them they gained weight, or are too skinny. Not just young people actually. My mother was underweight, she struggled to put on weight. And even at 65, she didn´t like if anyone mentioned how skinny she was.

Funny you bring up The Pretty Reckless. Taylor Momsen is the first person I think about when heading Courtney, even though Courtney's voice is unique and incomparable.

If you like this one check out This Girl Don’t Live Here Anymore by Courtney, it was her 2nd independent release and quite rocky, I like them all but my favourite is Breakable because it’s Courtney saying look I need to breakaway from all this because it isn’t doing me any good, it is pretty good not only cos it’s her first independent song but it also show cases her writing talent 😊😊😊

First off, Maunalee, I think your natural self looks quite good and not ill at all. Secondly, I think if you had mentioned the weight thing just one time with the health angle you now discussed, there would have been less hoorah about it. Given the oversensitivity to the body issue and the fact that you had emphasized it several times disconnected from a health concern, intensified the social response. Moving on, this was a good reaction. Courtney is a courageously different and extremely talented singer/songwriter who will make her serious mark when back onstage, not just as a KZbinr. As perhaps a stretch of an example, just hearing Taylor Swift singing a song onscreen early on would not have been that remarkable IMO (clarification: I think Courtney is far more of a unicorn-tney, if you will). But by building her brand over the years and obviously perfecting her staging and persona, Taylor has made her mark. Courtney's career success will have to have a similar trajectory, on a different plane certainly.

Sorry! You were definitely fat shaming. She gained a little weight, maybe too much ? Implying that she would not be accepted in the entertainment industry if she's not a stick ? There is nothing wrong with Courtney's weight or appearance. We were expecting a reaction on her performance and/or talent. If you did not appreciate, fine enough. People have different tastes. There was no call for the attack on her appearance based only on your outdated views of what she and other women should look like.

I'm still here for your comments and reactions. Courtney has such a distinctive voice and really knows how to use it. And, she's very creative, with (like you) minimal filtering. BTW, that's a good thing. Hopefully, all the "woke" wackos will stay away in faux offense. Sometimes, listening to your opinions, I'm compelled to lift my lenses and squint at what's really out there. That's another good thing.

Saying someone gained weight is not bullying. I just figured she has covid weight she is trying to work off like all of us. Her latest social media posts looks as if she is losing some of the weight.

I think she looks great, and she’s not overweight. And what about her talent? People really trashed Ann Wilson, Ann Wilson mind you, when she became fat. And she really did get very large. And again, what about her raw talent? If men gain weight no one says a damn thing.

Courtney has a very jealous fan club that is sensitive towards her. Courtney herself will accept criticism and role with it. Part of it is that some have degraded her for her singing style and they want her to know they are behind her. Don't worry, you are a great reactor and people will realize that

Can I suggest another reaction to Dea Matrona? You once gave them a 9 for their cover of Homeward Bound. They will be releasing their debut album this year but have singles and EPs out. They started out busking on the streets of Belfast and got noticed and started getting small gigs then went viral with the cover of Fleetwood Mac’s Oh Well and have toured Europe and the UK, won awards in Northern Ireland, had a couple songs hit #1 on Uk and Ireland iTunes rock charts and had a couple songs used in N. Ireland tv programs. They are a rock band but are just as comfortable acoustic. Also, Dea Matrona are independent so it won’t get blocked.

When I see you paying so much attention to trolls and justifying yourself to trolls it scares me. Is Maunalee going to let trolls dictate her reactions? When you let trolls monopolize your reactions instead of the performances, you are one step from quitting again. I don't want to lose you again.
