I’m just now starting to watch this and I wanted to give you some quick advice: get yourself a good tire thumper. They’re usually about 20 bucks or so and work MUCH BETTER than kicking the tires with your sneakers. If you have a tire that’s a little low on air, it will sound different with a tire thumper. With your sneakers, it’ll just feel “not flat” to you and you’ll just move on to the next tire thinking nothing of it. Tires that are low, BLOW (like your steer tire did)!

A couple of tips from an Aussie truck driver. It’s great that you did a pre departure check. When checking your air hoses, don’t forget to also check the connection to the prime mover as well as to the trailer. Glad to see you check the 5th wheel. Been plenty of fools unlock them while the driver has been asleep or away from the truck. This is a big cause of dropped trailers. Get a hammer to check your tyres. You can hear a distinctive sound when they’re out of air that you’ll miss by kicking them.

Dear bro Alex, I have been following you so much, I watch your videos a lot and I watched recently where you spoke about how your life got transformed by trucking, how you struggled with life and smoked lotta weed 😂before your uncle suggested to you and guided you into trucking business. I love trucking too bro. And I been driving a Mitsubishi L300 to pull through school in my accounting studies but my education got disrupted just like others because my bad government Nigeria don’t fund major government universities so schools have been on strike intermittently since 2020 when we should have completed our studies and gotten our certificates. I have decided to move on with my life as I got responsibilities and people depending on me and I'm 25 already. Your videos have inspired and bolden me to follow my driving passion and create life through it against the stereotype my society puts up. I been on a lookout for ways to land my ass 😂 as a trucker in the US. Is there any help you can offer a bro like me who's currently in the shoe you been in the past. Maybe, you get to become my unopened door or "UNCLE TRUCKER" 😅in my life that turns me to a trucker that transforms my life too 🙂. Doing a quick pretrip or posttrip is well and fine, but you need to make note and let people know that for every quick version of one, you need to be doing a detailed version of the other. You do a 5 minute pretrip, you'd best be doing a 15-20 minute posttrip. At least once a day you should be looking at the details of the truck. Suspension systems, engine bay, brakes, actually taking all your tire pressures with a gauge, lights, leaning of the truck, catwalk, underside, checking the ground for leaks, then letting the truck sit off for ten minutes so you can check all your fluid levels. You've got a solid little following. Be sure to guide them right, my dude. Keep the shiny side up!

Your best option is to become owner operator. My dad has been doing that for about 5 years but he was a truck driver 20 years prior to that. We live in SoCal and there’s so much money in trucking all over SoCal. You can easily only do local and earn at least $500 a day and up to $1000 per day. My best advice would be to look into dispatching to know how to get your own loads and not Pay someone to do it for you.

i play a trucking game and backing a semi is not easy, so imagine in real life, i learn bout that is you need to take your time, be patient and just really look closely your both side mirrors and don’t play w the steering wheel that much and make sure you try to even it out and if you mess it up it’s alright, you can start again until you get it right, no one should ever rush you bro
@awaroots2 жыл бұрын
For beginners, put your hands at the bottom of the wheel, if you want the trailer to go left, left hand goes up, right, right hand goes up. Focus on your tires in the mirror.
@kirkbrown21472 жыл бұрын
Remember when backing up if you want to back into a hole on the left, steer your full right but before all of that you have to be 4 feet away from where you want to to because it take some time for the trailer wheels to go where you want them. Jack knife your trailer until your trailer tires slows down then turn full left. Don't allow your trailer tires to roll forward while you jack knife(it will push your trailer out of the hole where you want to go. The angle of the trailer is too tight, pull forward with a straight wheel then go back with a full left. Adjust your steering while backing. Look where your tail is point. If it's pointing to the left then give it a little right(maybe half a turn). If your trailer tail is pointing to the right then give it left. Keep pulling up to fix yourself, you can pull up as far as you want but avoid pulling too much to the right of the hole you want to go in. Only pull up to make your truck and trailer straight esp if you don't have alot of room.
