I'm back. It's been 5 years of a fantastic car. APR stage 1 was so worth it, you'd be a fool not to tune the car if you want some free performance. This car has two sets of injectors so it solved the problem of carbon build up in the intake runners and backs of valves. It also has a clutch on the supercharger to disengage it for excellent fuel economy. The car gets better gas mileage with a tune. I then swapped the pulleys and tuned it to the next level. The car is making 480hp and 430 ft lbs of torque. I flashed the transmission so it would stop shifting at 6200 and rev closer to its new redline of 7400. The car will run 11s. Lots of torque everywhere in a silent but deadly executive express capable of spanking a lot of cars. I used to have multiple cars for racing, transporting a lot of people and one for luxury, This car does it all.

Alex, your reviews are really good, but what I also like is that you are always looking to improve them over time. People don't think about how much off camera work this takes, never mind the writing. Like many you could have remained in formula a long time ago, but you didn't, and your reviews really shine for that. Also, FYI, I only frequent TTAC anymore to see your narrative on the cars, and Sajeev and Steve. Ok, Murilee too. Thanks. Would you consider adding an engine sound? Definitely one of the best reviews I've watched. Clearly, 'hands above' KZbin claptrap. This is something I would anxiously enjoy on broadcast. The information was as thorough as I could have expected. Thank you for the refreshing result from your effort. I would not mind even slowing up the pace just a tad as your voice can sustain the longer length and the data would not seem as rushed. An extra 5 or 10 minutes would give ample time to absorb all the data. Lastly, Thank you for showing the features in action. That is something that is sorely missed in today's need to go 'short' on everything. Sometime's bigger and longer is better.

MMI note; not really bad or good but noticeable. The MMI cursor is opposite. Turning the cursor to the right would normally toggle the screen selection top to bottom.....WRONG....moves bottom to top. Again takes a bit of getting used to. I am not sure of the 2016 models but with 2012. The oil level is checked through the MMI screen so ensure on a level surface. For 2012 at least ECS tuning sells a oil dipstick. There is a blank off plug installed where the dipstick would normally go. 2012 the Quattro and ZF. 8 speed is a definite +2 much improved over the late 2000’s era 6 speed. If your spending the coin on a luxury model like this. Step up and get Quattro and V6 Hint: I am about 99 percent sure that the V6 is Quattro only so that makes the decision easy. Super chargers take a little getting used to but they work pretty good.

Interesting that the 5-series is mentioned as as a sort of benchmark in this class as when I test drove it while car shopping a couple of years ago it didn't feel special to me -- maybe I'm not in tune with the BMW magic. I knew I didn't want an E-Class based on an acquaintance having one. I found the A6 3.0T to be just about perfect, though I actually ended up taking an S6 home after I was stupid enough to accept the dealer's offer to test drive it. At 6'8" I do notice the front door opening being on the smaller side, but it doesn't take any odd contortions to get in, and head and legroom are both quite good.

Lol educate yourself. The emission scandal is a political scheme. Chevrolet and Ford wanted to start selling diesel passenger cars in North America but they couldn’t sell a lot of them because VW got 90%+ of the market share. So they pulled something shady to kick them out of the diesel market. Called a few guys sitting in the arm chairs high up in the federal government; put a few bucks in their pockets. Have you realized that GM came out with their Cruze EcoDiesel back in 2014 but barely sold any in North America. And the VW scandal came out in September, 2015 so all the TDI’s were done. Now the Cruze EcoDiesel has much better sales numbers than before VW got kicked out. If you ran tests on the Duramax, Power Stroke or Cummins diesel motors in their trucks I doubt they will meet all the regulations. Every company commits felonies. But it’s up to the government to judge and proscute them. If you put enough money in their pockets, they will pretend they don’t know anything about it. If you put more than enough money in their pockets, they will eliminate your competitors.
