Ranger Rover designer, "Hey chaps, let's make the roof of the new Evoque a solid piece of glass, but make it just a fixed panel." Designer's manager, "Yes, because everyone will want the sun beating down into their interior without the ability to vent the roof to make up for all of that exposed glass. It's perfect!" That pretty much describes the entire mentality behind the Chav mobile.
@antonioakiki37165 жыл бұрын
You can option a sliding roof. But I would prefer the glass pane as it gives a more airy feeling and I never open the glass roof in my car anyway and would prefer a larger pane. Luxury cars gives more options instead

I find this to be a very style forward crossover small luxury SUV. Almost every time I see one, it is driven by a woman. Having driven the Evoque myself, it really feels like a higher riding hatchback with a very good AWD system than it does with any other Range Rover branded product. The Velar & Sport are far closer to the big Range, whereas this Evoque is probably closer in feel to a smaller, more premium Disco Sport which is shares platform and powertrains with. It definitely has its niche, but its high price tag, smallish footprint and questionable MPG are all questionable, and that's before you consider the chronic reliability issues the Evoque has. The P250 volume seller is also just slow - again as Alex pointed out it is too heavy & the JLR Ingenium 2.0T doesn't feel as energetic as the BMW B48, Mercedes M260 or Audi EA888 Gen 3. Not that it matters - rich ladies love the Evoque and keep buying them.
@Mc-Taboo5 жыл бұрын
At the price point, I don't see why anyone would buy this over the upper class Velar or GLC , X3..etc.. OR over the same class X1, Q3, XC40..etc.. Land Rover made a huge mistake pricing the Evoque, they would definitely change it soon.

Hey Alex? What are your preferences on car door handles and car door locks? Maybe I'm old fashioned but I prefer doors that have locks you can unlock physically (and electronically) from the inside compared to electronic-only locks. Not only that, those hide-away door handles are definitely sleek and stylish but I would not want them on my vehicle in the winter (and for reliability reasons).

Though the metaphor is seriously stretched, the Evoque seems to me to be the Italian supermodel of SUV's. Gorgeous, expensive, impractical, and high maintenance. I suppose that description better fits the Alfa Romeo Stelvio but the notion of a British supermodel seems somewhat out of place.

While I've always agreed that the Range Rover models from Land Rover have nearly always been quite luxurious and very comfortable, at least for me, they are still very unreliable and have always had a host of maintenance problems going back decades. I've reviewed nearly every available source for automotive reliability and all of the known publications have the Land Rover/Range Rover products at the bottom of the list. I've known a number of folks who've purchased these vehicles in recent years only to find that their Range Rover spends as much if not more time up on a lift at their dealer garage than at home in their own private garage. For the same money, you can get much more reliable vehicles such as Lexus, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc.

I don’t know, the average income for someone who buys a Evoque is $250,000 a year, my mom has one and she could afford a larger range rover but she doesn’t need something that big, and she doesn’t really carry people around with her. She likes the styling and it hasn’t really had any problems just a couple software resets. That being said it does have a long warranty and a free maintenance. The hybrid model goes 0 to 60 in about 6.2 seconds and she has a leadfoot and has been averaging 28 so not bad could you get a better car for the money yes, but if you’d like to dealer experience, and you get discounts because you are coming out of another land rover lease then why not, to each his own. I think the XC 40 is a brilliant car, Great Sterling, lots of awesome features, and relatively inexpensive compared to this car but they are not reliable. Unless you’re buying A Lexus, The Mercedes GLC the BMW X1, X2, X3, and the Stelvio are all average reliability, so you’re gonna want to get an extended warranty or just lease it.
