Bills built a team to beat the Chiefs who don’t run the ball. NE just loaded the box with 300 lb. linemen and ran the ball. Easy and effective
@robbiewarrene3 жыл бұрын
except for in the afc championship where the chciefs ran the ball 25 times for basically 5 yards a carry and ran an effective quick and intermediate passing game. The chiefs, just like last year, have not revealed their true full playbook and gameplan yet. The playoffs will be completely different. Their team is built for running the ball and I feel like they are trying to force their offense to have to learn how to play against 2 high and be forced to pass, Andy isn’t a stupid coach and yet they win despite his playcalling being awful. They lost the super bowl because they were down too much to run and the buccs just played 2 high the whole time, and they have an insane d-line that is so hard to run against. I think they are just trying to find a way to beat the buccs before they even have to play them, and it might end up making them lose before they even reach a point where they will be able to play them.
@robbiewarrene3 жыл бұрын
@@Andy_Babb I was talking about the chiefs; for the bills I don't think they stand a chance in the playoffs. Their o-line isn't great Josh Allen is very shaky and not very accurate under pressure and their corners aren't good. IDK how long Tre white is out for but not having him is a big blow. They might beat a couple teams down the stretch because of big plays and end up with a 10-7 or 11-6 record but they won't win a super bowl with that d-line and o-line.
@brockjensen24733 жыл бұрын
@@Andy_Babb no he’s right it was absolutely easy. You could say their scheming wasn’t easy but that scheme is what made running easy. The patriots are doing exactly what we knew they’d do, they’re leveraging what they have best which is obviously bill belichick. They don’t have any of the best positions (you could argue their line is elite which it is but idk that I’d say the best) and bill used his knowledge and his greatness to find ways to put his team in the best potion to win even if they weren’t the most talented on the field. Its all about setting things up by getting the defense thinking one way so you can take advantage. It also reminds me of how Walsh used to talk about his experience as an amateur boxer influencing his play calling, in the way you use combos to see how the other fighter is going to react initially, and then using their tendencies to open up their defense to land bigger punches.

So until the Bills could get 2 scores in a quarter against the Pats playing an aggressive pedestrian offense (with a run game the Bills defense couldn't really stop their consistency for) then they were in the losing end in the 4th. I think an under talked about but extremely important note I took away from that game was just how good the Patriots offense is. This isn’t the 2019 season where our defense was bound to get 4 picks and a TD every game. We ran the ball 40+ times against a team that knew they were gonna run every play. We ran for over 200 yards with a stacked 11 man box every play. We beat them, despite them knowing what we were gonna do every play. We play the bills again in 2 weeks and they have zero clue what kind of passing schemes we’ll unleash. People think Buffalo will get revenge, I think we’re going to annihilate them.
@thatonewriter80433 жыл бұрын
I think the weather helped a lot. As soon as I saw that wind, I knew it was going to play out more or less the way it did, which is a huge advantage for New England. Buffalo just isn't built for the same kind of running (though at least their scheme prepared them more than if it happened to the Chiefs). Credit Josh Allen, though. He hit Diggs deep on a would-be TD, and he made a couple other great throws that his receivers just dropped. You can coulda-woulda-shoulda all day, but most NFL games come down to a few key plays, and those plays all went against the Bills. I favor the Bills under better weather (though it'll be cold, and that always favors running teams like the Pats and Titans). Looking forward to the next one (or two, hopefully?)
@formerfilmstudent83493 жыл бұрын
@@thatonewriter8043 I just do not see Buffalo coming into Gillette and beating us right now. This is the best our offense has looked since 2016. We have an incredible offensive line, two phenomenal power running backs. An incredibly intelligent, accurate, and improving rookie QB. And a top 3 rated defense in the league. It’s a home game, we already proved we can run it down their throat, combine that with how well Mac Jones is playing and even Kendrick Bourne emerging as a pretty solid #1 receiver. I just don’t see Buffalo winning that, initially I saw us splitting the series. But had them winning their home game. I guess we’ll see how it pans out
@TJackson7363 жыл бұрын
@@thatonewriter8043 Thats a big reason you need to be able to run the ball incold weather - not only does the cold and wind make it harder to throw the bal, but it is also much more difficult to catch as well.
@t4d0W3 жыл бұрын
Remember Belichick tries to get the most out of his small margin advantages, ESPECIALLY weather. The funny part is the Bills aren't hindered by the wind as much as we'd like to think as Josh Allen's arm can def cut through it and we saw him try go deep various times in the game. But until Allen could show the Belichick that he was going to do that all night long, the Pats defense wasn't going to adjust heavily and worry too much. So all the Bills had left was the underneath stuff which the Pats defense are satisfied trying to contain. Bills got a non-factor of a run game outside of Josh Allen's power runs but lets be real here cuz the Daboll and the Bills offense hasn't tinkered with the run game enough to make it a legit threat for defenses to watch out for. So ultimately that night the Bills and Pats were one dimensional but the Pats offense ended up being more consistent. And their advantages in the trenches over the Bills smaller players won out.

Well, we have , by now, to beat the Bill again, and this time without the help of the weather. If we lose, by more than 4 points, than the Bills will be the #1 and we are at risk to miss the playoffs entirely. The road game vs the Dolphins will be no walk in the park, while the Bills have the easiest schedule possible. And there are so many teams in the AFC that can catch up with us when we lose twice. If the Titans win, and the Colts win two of their last three games, than the first berth is gone. If the Charger win all three games, and they have an easy schedule, then the next one and a single berth is left, and with the Bengals, Browns, Steelers, and Bronocs we have four other team who are still in the race for this berth. Ruling is something else...not to scramble with half of the league for the last remaining wild card. If we lose against the Bills, we are in absolute trouble, and god knows what kind of Bills we will meet: the ones that got humiliated in the first three quarters by the Bucs, or the ones that couldn't be stopped by the Bucs in the last quarter...

But I was wondering if you could expand on that?

The small quick passes are already something the Pats defense have taken account for so all that is left is Allen taking deep shots. He took some but not enough to threaten overtaking the Pats lead in the second half. When you have Allen's arm strength, cold weather isn't really an issue. Dude DID challenge the elements by having some deep throws in the game. Same could be said for their 'bigger' receivers like Gabriel Davis and their TE Dawson Knox whose pretty much a big pass catching h-back. People keep saying the patriots are back like they went somewhere, after losing their starting QB they went 7-9, where are most teams after they lose a starting QB? 1-15? 2-14? One season of being under .500 shouldn’t really mean “oh the Patriots are gone”. They were a decent team with an oft injury Cam Newton, that weren’t terrible when he was in and healthy. It’s not that big of a surprise that you upgrade at the most important position in football, have a good draft, bring in key players and a middling 7-9 team is suddenly a playoff contender. I just keep hearing sportscasters act like it was this amazing transformation when it was mostly just business as usual.

After watching the bills pats playoff game i can safely say this game was a fluke and the bills are the better team, the bills destroyed them to the point they never even punted once

Just goes to show how little a quarterback needs to contribute to have success with Belichick

46 carries for 223 only averages out to 4.8 per and if you take away the 65 yard run from harris it goes to 158/46 which is 3.4 per carry. The bills had a good day. When u play somebody who runs the ball a lot. That is bound to happen that one breaks loose
@61spindrift3 жыл бұрын
Ok...obviously either a Bills fan or a Pats hater. 4.8 yards per carry is what you ultimately want in your running game. Anything over is just icing on the cake.

You can't take away something that happen

LOL WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA ... DIDN'T! Stay in your armchair kid. This was a mismatch for the Bills from the start and they had to prove Allen's arm strength can generate explosive downfield passes that could open up the game. Since Mac Jones def isn't challenging the wind with his arm. They didn't so Belichick got to play his game and exploited the Bills weakness the whole night.
