Thank you for the mention the shop is looking good! Street running is fun and a nice break from all of the off road stuff I think its a overlooked part of the hobby that is not speed running but just street bashing.
@ChriswithaCrcКүн бұрын
Larry, thank you, mate! It’s awesome to hear from you. I couldn’t agree more-street bashing is such an underrated side of the hobby. It’s refreshing to switch it up from off-road and enjoy some good old-fashioned tarmac fun without chasing crazy speeds. Your channel, L2theW, has been a fantastic inspiration, so the mention is well-deserved! Big respect for the work you’re doing, and wishing you sunny skies and smooth runs out there in Florida. Cheers, buddy! Stay awesome buddy Chris :)

Pro tip . Assembly of the front is worlds easier if you pull only the two bolts that go into the basket and leave the rest of the bottom plate attached to the front diff . Its a particular thing taking the rig down for service . Hope ive made sense . Cheers!
@ChriswithaCrc4 күн бұрын
Thanks for the pro tip! That definitely makes sense, and I can see how it would save time and frustration during servicing. I’ll give that a try next time-it’s all about those little tricks that make wrenching more efficient. Cheers for sharing your knowledge, much appreciated!

Congrats on passing 4k subscribers!!! Great demo of a RC Street Basher for £179 - the stock version is very tail happy thou and almost impossible to drive quickly on damp surfaces. Perhaps run the car stock next time, then upgrade the transmitter / receiver (+ giro) as you show the truck handling much better than the stock version. Buyers need to be aware that a giro makes a world of difference on this truck!
@ChriswithaCrcКүн бұрын
Thanks so much for the congrats on hitting 4K-it means the world to me! 🙌 You're spot on about the stock version being a handful, especially on damp surfaces. Running it as stock would definitely highlight the need for upgrades like a gyro, which transforms the handling into something far more manageable and enjoyable. I’ll keep that in mind for future runs-showing the before-and-after is a great idea. Thanks for the feedback and support, and happy bashing!

I've had the RX version for around 8 months & yeah, it's not bad.! The bodues are a lot tougher than people say they are, especially if you drive sensibly & don't do 30 foot jumps.! 😉 For £224 it's bloody good value for a 1/8th scale, centre diff car with a 4S Hobbywing Max 10 & 3674 motor.! They do need a bit of fettling out the box (diffs & shocks), but what RC doesn't.? The only thing to bear in mind, it is a budget RC & it tends to wear parts out & get a bit wobbly, especially the pillow hubs. They get really sloppy after only a couple of months, but they're really cheap to replace & while you're doing them it gives you a chance to go round with a driver & the oil bottle & do a bit of regular maintenance.! I've tried a Surpass Rocket 3660/4200kv motor in mine, on 3S I'd have to say it was actually quicker than stock, 4S was mental but it got hot, nothing a decent fan can't help with.!! I don't know how long the centre diff would take the extra power, I know for a fact they won't hold up to 6S.!😉 Luckily Maverick do an aluminum diff case.!! 👍 👍 Also, the belted tyres on the RX are actually really decent.!! They're grippy & long lasting, at £15 a pair (unmounted) they're maybe not the cheapest.. As soon as you lost drive I thought "GRUB SCREW".!!! Literally every Maverick I've had needed thread lock on the grub screws.! Like you say, that's not the car's fault, it's a QC issue.! Another great video Chris mate.! 👍 👍 👍 Thanks for giving the budget Mavericks some love.!! Happy New Year & the very best wishes from Scotland 🏴 🙏 ❤️ 📻 🕹️ 🔋 🚗 🚖 🚕 🚔 🚚 🚙 🚘 🚓 🚒 🚑 🚐 🚎 🚤 🚁 🛩️ 👍 👍 👍

Hello, my Celtic brother Alan! 🏴 Thanks for stopping by and sharing your RX experience-love hearing from a fellow enthusiast! You're absolutely spot on about the bodies; they’re tougher than people give them credit for, especially if you keep it sensible (no 30-foot jumps... well, maybe just 29! 😉). For £224, getting a 1/8th scale rig with a Hobbywing Max 10 and a 3674 motor is incredible value. Totally agree about the pillow hubs-they do get a bit wobbly, but at least they’re cheap and give you a good excuse for some maintenance. That Surpass Rocket setup sounds like a beast-mental on 4S but keeping it cool is always the challenge. And yes, that aluminum diff case from Maverick is a game changer for durability! Those belted tires are surprisingly decent too-solid grip and last a good while. Ah, the infamous grub screws! As soon as I lost drive, I thought the exact same thing-thread lock is essential with these Mavericks. Appreciate you watching and for giving the budget Mavericks their due love. Happy New Year to you as well, and here’s to more RC adventures in 2025! Cheers, mate! 🚗🍀

Oh yes like you say, for the money you can't complain about needing to do a bit of maintenance. My Arrma 3s cars needed everything locktighting. I have to say though that I have driven things like the Infraction and I think that there is just a limited amount of fun you can have with a road car compared to an off road car because it's pretty much all on the flat. Also you get through tyres in no time whereas if you run an off road car mainly on grass then the tyres almost last forever. If you do want a road car though then this looks like it's worth a go 😁👍👍
@ChriswithaCrc4 күн бұрын
Spot on, Pete! You’ve nailed the pros and cons perfectly. Maintenance is just part of the game, but like you said, for the money, you can’t really complain. Off-road cars definitely offer that versatility and tire longevity-you can’t beat a grassy bash for saving those treads! But for a road car, this little Maverick punches well above its weight. I hear you on the Infraction though; it’s in a different league but also a bit more ‘single-lane’ fun-wise. This Quantum R Flux gives us a solid, budget-friendly way to scratch that street car itch without feeling guilty about tire costs or limited terrain. Cheers, mate! 😁👍 Hope you and the Mrs are well buddy , and if i dont speak to you have a great 2025 . Stay awesome my friend Chris :)

I like your content. I had one and totalled it in 10 minutes. It's not bad, easy to fix, but one will spend more time fixing it than driving it.
@ChriswithaCrcКүн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! Sounds like you had an intense 10 minutes with it-definitely one of those RCs that’s fun but requires a bit of patience with repairs. It’s all part of the hobby, though, right? Sometimes the wrench time can be just as rewarding as the drive time. Appreciate you sharing your experience, and I hope you’re still enjoying the hobby!

I think Modelsport got one of these up to, or past.?? 100mph at Rossa.! They had their modified version of this truck for sale in their "Pre-owned" section on their shop site. I was very tempted but since I already had the RX version I passed it up.
@mathias48914 күн бұрын
I've had the rally up to 86 and the truck up to 94 . Ya with 6s they can get pretty rowdy lol . Terrified of blowing up diffs or snapping shafts tho it's too much for them . Some hard launches on 6 physically damaged the input cups on the rx . That said I've only seen minimal bending of the bones and not lost a pin yet, though the length of the bone pins bothers me . Not a bad idea to throw some orings in cups to remove the excessive wiggle of the front center too
@ChriswithaCrc4 күн бұрын
Wow, 100mph or more at ROSSA is seriously impressive! Modelsport clearly knew how to get the most out of this little truck. That modified version in their pre-owned section must have been a beast-I don’t blame you for being tempted! But hey, if you've already got the RX version, you're probably having just as much fun. Thanks for sharing that bit of history-it’s always awesome to hear about the potential of these rigs!
@ChriswithaCrc4 күн бұрын
Those are some seriously impressive speeds-86 with the rally and 94 with the truck! Running 6S on these is definitely a next-level experience, but I hear you on the fear of blowing up diffs or snapping shafts. That much power really tests the limits of the hardware! The input cup damage from hard launches shows just how much strain they’re under. Smart call on adding O-rings in the cups to tighten things up-small tweaks like that can make a huge difference in durability. Thanks for sharing your insights-it’s great to hear from someone really pushing these rigs to their limits!

Nice one Chris, ' go and smash the granny out of it' 🤣😆🤩... it turned out a 'creature of mass bash' i see 😉 I am not sure the truck body style suits the actual real world use, more touring car like you say, certainly doesn't like any bumps. You could argue if you dont have a decent 4s battery and charger its not a 4s £180 truck, but if you do have the battery etc its a relatively cheap carpark hooner for sure. Can you link the Method hex drivers pls mate, i need some decent screweez. Keep up the sterling work bud, its great watching warts n all....
@ChriswithaCrc2 күн бұрын
“Smash the granny out of it” - now that’s a new level of bashing! 😂 The truck might need a little more love if it wants to tackle those bumps like a pro. And I’ll make sure to link those hex drivers before I forget - gotta keep those screws in check!

You're absolutely right-these rigs are impressively affordable and pack a ton of value for the price. They handle well and seem to take punishment like champs, especially with a bit of tuning and care. @ChriswithaCrc4 күн бұрын
You're absolutely right! The Maverick Quantum R Flux offers great value for what you get, especially under $200. The Infraction 3S is definitely a step up in performance and refinement but comes with that higher price tag unless, as you mentioned, you catch it on sale. It's awesome we have options at different price points-it keeps the hobby accessible for everyone. Cheers for the insight! Stay awesome Chris :)

Hmmmm , well for the money its hard to pass a deal were the electrics are worth the same price as the truck , ill be honest everyone is in a different perspective when it comes to owning a RC ! and at the price of only £179 you cant even buy a 1/8th scale truck for that normally and this on 4s is tons of fun ! , is there better out there for sure , but thats missing the whole point . So before you judge remember not everyone can blow £600 on a truck , its all about having fun and if this is dictated by budget well come on its hard to pass up . Thanks for watching Stay awesome Chris :)
