Got to say Alex that the chicken made my mouth water! Down to one last wall.. good for you mate. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Bazza the bird, me thinks he/she is distracted with other things. Now please excuse me because that chicken your smoked has made me hungry.

Cheers John, yeah I'm hoping Bazza makes a return, I was genuinely missing him and his food stealing antics.

There is something about the pitta patta of rain with a roaring fire while under a shelter...

Mate that chicken looked awesome. Even my wife looked over from her chair and commented on it and said that she was now hungry. I guess I had better get bust and cook Brekky. 😁
@AlexDoes3 жыл бұрын
Yeah it was pretty bloody good chicken! All that effort building the fireplace has certainly paid off when it comes to the cooking.

G'day Alex, great episode mate, albeit with some sadness. I did notice the poem, very apt !!!!!. Be interesting to see how the bracken fern mix compares over time. I'm think'n with the food prep/filming; works well as it is, but incorporate a full on "bar" into that particular window frame when the time comes. Might have to think about some "run off" drainage into the future; (If nature/gravity doesn't do it itself). A wrap certainly is a nice way to eat chicken and veg, especially cooked and smoked with your own hand-built fireplace/oven yum- o !!!!!!!!! I have tried hickory and apple wood on the Weber, with beef, and pork respectively, (not bad), and of course Rosemary with lamb, (sensational). I wonder how tomatoes, capsicums, onions and others would go smoked ? Maybe too much with the meat, might be good for the vegos though, or perhaps with unsmoked meat for the rest of us. Anyway, very cool mate, cya next week. Cheers Duke. P.S. Yes, I can see you in the "dark", would be pretty funny, a black screen and just your voice, considering your type of content, but hey mate, plenty do, and do it with success, lol.

Cheers Duke, must admit I was quite please with my poetic efforts so thanks for noticing! I agree about the bar idea. The current food prep area was only ever meant to be temporary, I'd love to do something more substantial (spoiler alert....I'm thinking of a second fireplace outside the shelter just for cooking). I like the idea of vegetarian smoked meal....might have to give that some thought. Greatly appreciate your input as always mate, take care.

Hi Alex, just about to possibly have to start living in my bus that I have converted. Could you recommend any safe places to park around Sydney? I currently live in Ryde area, but would even like to park the bus somewhere outside Sydney, possibly even a caravan park if not too expensive?? Thanks
@AlexDoes3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rich, I've never stayed in Sydney or a caravan park so can't recommend any sorry. My experience has been business park areas are good. Places where no one lives and everyone leaves outside of business hours.
