It is one of those movies that would probably give little kids nightmares, which if you ask me is a good thing. As an adult I think of the scene where the Green Gargantua attacks the airport and how it runs across the airfield, try imagining something like that really happening, some giant humanoid creature running towards you intent on eating you, try not having nightmares.

I've heard that main actor Russ Tamblyn had to redub his lines because they lost his audio track and that's the reason, why he sounds so monotone and bored throughout most of the movie.

This is actually one of my absolute FAVORITE TOHO Kaiju movies! When I was a child, I cried every time I saw it because I was saddened by the "Brown" Gargantua's death! It STILL chokes me up today! Another "non-Godzilla" TOHO movie I highly recommend is ATTACK OF THE MUSHROOM PEOPLE, in which KUMI MIZUNO also appears! BTW In the original Japanese version BOTH Gargantuas were about the same color that's how "Akemi"(Kumi Mizuno) could mistake GAIRA (the green one) for SANDA (The brown one) from her position in the subway.

Without a doubt, this is one Toho flick I can show non-fans and they get it. Also, the song that goes on forever gets called out every time. Someone once called it "Wonderfully Dreadful". For some reason, kids today, laugh at the women getting eaten at the airport. That scene scarred me silly as a kid. Toho was on top of their game with War of The Gargantua's.

Seriously though this is my favorite giant monster movie. And it’s all in account of the green Gargantua. He should have won an Oscar for his performance. And you should get an Oscar for your narration. On spot and hilarious. 😂

ah good old Giant Octopus, took him a while before he got a main role in a monster movie (it is my belief that anytime a monster movie contains a gigantic kaiju sized octopus without a name or is called Giant Octopus then it is Giant Octopus, aka the Kaiju anybody can use)

The American version I kinda consider superfluous compared to the original Japanese version, which I didn't really get a chance to see until it came out from DVD from Classic Media, so I consider myself lucky that I got to see the Japanese version with actual Japanese acting rather than the American version with bad dubbing. Gotta love that brown Gargantua Gailah - he would give the Yeti a run for his money!

One of the so-called lost Godzilla movies involved Godzilla fighting one or both Gargantuas. Kind of like other cancelled Godzilla movies such Volcano Monsters (original American version of the second Godzilla movie) and the cancelled Godzilla/Frankenstein movie.

I was 12 (?) when by accident I caught this movie on TV, as it was already playing I didn't catch the start, and sweet bejeezes did it freak me out ( lol ! ). As Alex mentioned he was chomping on humans, and over all a simply strange movie. Strangely though, they hardly play this movie as with the other Kaiju flicks. Party on Alex..Peace from Texas

According to legend Russ Tamblyn, the American scientist didn't want to be in this movie. He supposedly failed to deliver his lines properly and acted very annoying. In one scene, you can see he has a bride under his left eye like someone punched him.
